    Eastdog's Bankers & Anchors: Season 2016

This is the Season 2016 edition of the Bankers and Anchors Thread. Once the season is concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we banked on to do the right thing during the season
The Anchors = 3 guys/aspects of the game that weighed us down by their errors or poor play during the season

Please limit it to no more than three of each player or aspect of the game, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match - I will allow more freedom now as the thread seems to be going down more of the aspects of the game path so you can have 3 for each made up of aspects of the game and individual players.

The thread is named in honour of a popular WOOF Contributor, The Banker, who passed away on 22/04/2012 after a six month battle with cancer.

Nah, the more the merrier. If they've seen the error of their ways and wish to enrich their lives, their membership dollars are as good as anyone elses

          Bankers:

          - Marcus Bontempelli's season. Absolutely brilliant and had a leading hand in us winning so many games.
          - Team Defence - We were incredibly difficult to score against, and the way we locked the ball in our half and won the territory war, ultimately led to us being able to run over the top of sides, and win the close game (6/1 in games decided by 10 points or less).
          - Resilience - No matter what was thrown at us during the year, the players and coaches didn't sulk, or get down on themselves. They kept fronting up every week and producing remarkable effort.

          Anchors:

          - Injuries to so many key players who would have loved to have been a part, and should have been a part, of the premiership.
          - Not being able to keep all of the players there next year. Its reality, but always sad to see the mandatory list turnover and the potential for some of the likes of Stevens, Minson, Hrovat, Prudden etc to have to make way when they are all clearly good club people and solid footballers. All the best to those who aren't at the kennel next year.
