    Bankers
    1. Our veterans. These 3 blokes are AMAZING. Murph makes a seamless re-entry to centre stage, Matty Boyd - ever cool, keeps his head when all around is spinning and Dale Morris is just so committed to the contest and ever-reliable. Hope his injury is minor.
    2. JJ - versatile
    3. Travis Cloke - played his role to perfection

    Anchors

1 We got killed around the stoppages
    2 Stringer's set shots
    3 The 7.50 time slot.

        Bankers-

        - The cream rising to the top in the third, Bont, Murph and Macrae particularly.

        - Cloke- really liked his game. Work rate exceptional and the goal awesome.

        - Murph- hasn't missed a beat.

        Anchors
Daniel- was Collingwoods best for patches throughout the game.

Our mids- towelled by a very good midfield group. Lucky Bucks can't coach, as they could be a very dangerous side.

Camera work- it was infuriating how poor and slow the camera work was. Usually I complain about he commentary but I thought the camer work was horrendous.

          B:
JJ - some poor disposal early but he was exhilarating across the match, at either end. A real weapon.
Stringer - leading patterns and work rate were very good. Still concerned he won't go up to the ball, or fly for marks but he is on his way again.
Bob - wound back the clock in the 3rd qtr to his days as an undersized, dominant CHF.

          A:
Inability to contain Adams, Treloar and Side ottom
Daniel kick into the middle across field turnover. Howler.
          Deliberate OOBs v JJ. Ridiculous.

            Bankers
3rd term. That was our team at it's best
Backline. Inside entries were coming in thick and fast. Brilliant effort to hold off
Cloke's first go. Choke on that!

            Anchors
Haven't checked the stats but we got it handed to us in the centre. Not sure if it was ruck related or not?
            Missed shots late were disappointing
And I can't go to a Collingwood game without anchoring their supporters. AFL won us the grand final, every hand ball a throw, every out of bounds deliberate, every tackle they laid was HTB every free they got was bronx cheered.

Yeah it was wierd, lots of long range, wide angle shots.

                Bankers

                1. Bob's return. It's so good to see him back and playing well.
                2. Crameri's return. He was definitely rusty but it won't be long until he is monstering defenders
                3. Roberts. Can be found out one on one but was solid all game. More of that please Fletch.

                Anchors

                1. Fumbles. Round 1 I know, but how many times we fumbled in tight allowing the pies to get the clearance.
                2. Jong. Tried hard (14 tackles) but look to number 1 anchor. Collingwood's mids had huge numbers so not too sure what effectiveness he had.
                3. Morris injury 22 seconds to go.
They've done studies you know, 60% of the time, it works every time!

I'm guessing they might do it to allow time for people who finish late from work to get to the footy but I don't think so otherwise that time would apply on Thursday night. Something to do in the TV rights.

                    Bankers
Morris, just keeps doing more than most expect.
Roberts, has maintained his improvement from last season. He will be beaten from time to time but we have to stick with him
Johannisen, his 2 goals made a huge difference

                    Anchors
Daniel, I think his rehab over the pre-season has put him behind.
Suckling, provided the flair but also the lair and I hate that shit
Bevo's explanation of the ruck, it's like trying to find Where's Wally

I thought Suckling was brilliant, his kicking was sublime. Daniel did turn the ball over a few times, but also did some good things. As for the rucks - I think Bevo knows what he is doing, but won't be giving much away to the opposition.

So Suckling didn't try and be overly flash at times? I acknowledged that he provided some flair.
How did you interpret Bevo's explanation of the ruck? I don't understand it and I've tried to
I've also acknowledged Daniels preseason injury interruption which I think has put him a bit behind where he needs to be

I interpret it as the best coach in the league being deliberately vague after 1 genuine game under the new rules & umpiring interpretations as he's still working out how best to attack the problem. Definitely not anchor worthy.

GVGjr, I appreciate our ruck stocks are a bit of a hobby horse of yours, but what did you want from the coach in the face of the questions asked Friday night?
                            TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Freo smashed Geelong in the hitouts/hitouts to advantage, clearances and inside 50's tonight but they were obliterated, and all this after Geelong dropped their best ruckman Zac Smith and brought in a mid for team balance. The ruck situation and the impact of the 3rd man up rule change is still very much an unknown quantity, which is what Bevo was trying to articulate in his presser.

Your concerns may well be borne out but the sample size is too small for a definitive trend to be identified with regard to the ruck/stoppage area in 2017.

And third man up is meaningless in centre bounces, where we got smashed all night.

Bevo's presser just confirmed what we all suspect when he said the new rules won't encourage more ruck man to be drafted. He doesn't rate pure tap only ruckmen. Tim English is the perfect type for Bevo, just a shame he's 2 years away from being an influencer.
