Re: Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde

Hawks seem to play consistant 4 qtrs with the ability to dominate one qtr to blow the game away.

Cats havent been in the dominating form they showed towards the end of last year. They seem to have that bit of arrogance that suggests they dont really need to put the foot down to win, and then do when the situation is needed.

Geelong do whats needed to be done to win, and mainly have strong last qtrs.

To beat either team we cant allow lapses in the 1st qtr, as although we may be able to run out a game, we cant allow these sorts of teams to get away to a 4-5 gl lead.
I will never see #16 the same!!

      Totally different team.

We'll need 4 quarters of good footy to beat the Cats or Hawks.

We simply cant play our preferred brand of footy-the run 'em of their legs type-for four quarters. It's impossible we'd have half a dozen players hooked up to ECGs by 3/4 time if we tried. What we can do now is revert to a gameplan that's less taxing on the players whilst limiting the opposition's scoring. Last year when we were tired sides just ran over the top of us.

It's also a different game these days. Coaches have to anticipate when it's best to have our A team on the field and when it's best to have (say) West, Cooney, Griff and Hudson on the bench resting. Sides naturally are going to get on top when the opposition guns are on the pine.

BTW Geelong are spluttering and coughing at the moment. They are playing like millionares and only bother turning on when they think they are in trouble. Lairising like that is the downfall of good footy teams.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Geelong are actually looking more suspect at Skilled Stadium than at the Dome atm and we play them there.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

It's going to be hard for them to ignore taking their publicity seriously. Thers a lot of people in Geelong patting them on the backs and telling them they are the best team ever. The players heads will be too big to fit through the changing room doors. Our own record at TD is pretty good as well. I think it's 12 from the last 14 games or something including 3 of the last 4 V the Cats.
