It must sap the spirit that we have to work so hard to get reward for our inside 50's. We had control of most of that quarter yet could not fully capitalise.
I love the work ethic of our players, but many of our hardest workers just are a shade below AFL standard for skill execution.
We won a premiership through the sheer strength of our will and desire, having to exert the sort of pressure required to turn coal into diamonds in order to score enough points.
In theory a Tom Boyd type should alleviate that, but we both are required to use him predominantly in a ruck role & he also isn't yet a dominant enough key forward to get the job done when he is forward.
