North Melbourne the away side in Cairns

Looks like our request to be the away side in Cairns in 2018 with 2 home games being played in Ballarat has been denied

If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Trying to kill the membership base we have up there. Not a major request I'd thought. Thanks AFEL.

AFEL wants to give Gold Coast a chance to win. Hence North and not us.

Good point. They need to keep changing the opposition so they're not used to the unique conditions

I doubt we would have many members in Cairns. I went there for the game in 2014 and the locals told me they were all going for the Queensland team and that the Suns had been there for several years heavily promoting themselves. It is part of their academy zone having gained Jack Bowes last year.

I'm glad we are not playing there this year given it would have been round 1 in March. Climate is nice in July but it will be damn hot and humid even in late March and therefore a real chance of stuffing our players for weeks after.

I love Cairns but I'm glad we aren't plying there in March. That's insane.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Cairns was always going to be a temporary thing. Glad it's over and done with.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Not to sure the players would be to upset in not playing up there in March . Still pretty humid, I’d imagine
