On merit of because of an injury list? Surely Matt Kennedy's arrival limits Harmes?

This year he played 9 AFL games, 5 VFL games and was unavailable for 10 home and away games due to injury. I know it's a hobby horse of mine, but I just don't see where the improvement comes from in a 29yo with recurrent injuries.

If he can regularly play his best football, we're a better side. But the days of consistent good AFL football have passed him by.

My hope is that a player like Garcia, who only played 12 games last year, plays more like 20+ and holds their spot by performing consistently well.

Pains me to say, and I hate to possibly speak it into existence, but Libba to possibly play <10 games. He's 1 head knock away from instant retirement, and we nearly had to go through that last year. I just can't see with the way he plays that he won't cop another again at some stage. I remember feeling so gutted when he copped that last concussion, thinking we'd get no farewell game or anything from the great man which he truly deserves.

I just wonder if that played into the decision to bring Dom Brew in to train with us?
Sure we still have some midfield depth with Sanders, M.Kennedy, Garcia and Harmes but Brew is perhaps a bit closer to how Liberatore goes about it.

I'd be almost certain that's the case. Would be a terrible outcome if we lose him suddenly, but I've got a feeling Tom wouldn't be all that fussed to call it a day without the fanfare.

Tom needs 17 games to get to 250, so he maybe keen to get there.

I know the Harmes thing is controversial, but your number back up why he will play 15 games + if fit. He missed 10 games last year b/c of injury and I'd argue that the 5 he played at Footscray were because he was getting fitness back, not form. He was preferred to West for the finals. AS a HF, he is better than West, McNeil and VdMa and Kennedy.

My bold prediction is that Arty plays 15+ games and has a breakout season. We often forget he entered the draft at just 60kg and doesn’t have a body type that easily adds size. However, he looks visibly bigger in some preseason photos. Arty appears to be one of those players who suits the AFL level more than the VFL.

                    That would be fantastic

VDM, McNeil and Harmes to all play +20, just for the melts.

Harmes playing 15 games or more is a terrible outcome for us if we have reasonable expectations of being a good football side.

I'm going to start having a closer look at him.
He needs to find a position and start getting some results. He's got a few traits that would help our team. Let's hope he takes his chances.

                          15+ AFL games?

What role is he going to play? I kind of hope you're right but just can't see where he fits...
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

He was a player I was super excited about drafting when we got him , but unfortunately he just hasn't really kicked on. He has some elite attributes in his speed, endurance and x-factor, however the trouble he has with finding the footy just doesn't seem to have improved at all. Can't afford to keep a player like that on the list, no matter how talented. Sincerely hoping a strong pre-season sets him up for a strong year, I really hope he makes it.
