Looks promising, clean with the ball. When Dolan's face bobbed up on the big screen I thought it was Davidson, could b e twins.

I’ll change my mind rapidly depending on how his kicking shapes up. Might have some limitations there so it’ll be about him finding his limits there at this level and mitigating risk of turnovers.
      Well said SOS.
I really like what i saw in his first game. Hard running and knows where to read the play as it evolves. He missed a mark that Dolan centered, but he almost got his hands in the right position. His first goal was really good work.
A bit of Van der Harr about him.

If he can add to his game in strong marking, he could be a kickout option out of defence. At this stage he is ahead of Poulter. This is good to have competition for spots .

If he plays more than 10 games this year, that is a fantastic pickup for a mature age player.

It was hard to tell on TV - where'd he play last night? Bit of chat that that he played half forward after spending his pre-season as a winger.

He'll play every game barring injury.

HIs running capacity is unbelievable. Led the match for:
Distance covered at high speed (2.8km)
          Average speed (8.6km/hr)
Total sprints (28 - VDM next highest for us with 19)
          Ave speed in attack
2nd for Ave speed in defence

Somebody who runs like that, even if just covering space some weeks, is invaluable. I'm so happy with how he's tracking.

Accurate commentary mostly. Was lining up at HF but played a real two way game.

Last year we were doing that thing with the half back running into the centre bounce, a winger dropping back to cover them, and a HFF moving onto the wing. Did we do that still or nah?

His athletic profile is going to help him no end plus he can play a few positions for us.
He's still got a lot to learn but he's off to a terrific start.

What's even more amazing is VDM led the comp two years ago for repeat sprint efforts and is normally ahead of every other Bulldog.

For Davidson to put up those running numbers in his first AFL game is simply incredible.

                    Yes, sure did.

e.g. Freijah running through from CHB, Bramble starting on a wing but going back, then Davidson starting HF and taking Bramble’s wing.

I had a feeling that might be his role when the commentators pointed out his starting position

Great article in The Age on the family:

A few poor kicks tonight that exposed a need to develop his composure at the level but an otherwise really strong, two way, gut running game with additional physical efforts that I think should give him confidence. Need to check the stats but it seemed like he got a fair amount of the footy.

15 touches. I think his running is highly valuable though, and the way he danced through traffic in one piece of the play in the last was sublime.

For what he's producing in his second game of football in a position we've struggled to fill in recent years - we should be doing cartwheels.
