He ticks a few boxes no doubt but at the moment he isn't an established best 22 player which is an absolute necessity.
If he gets there this year perhaps long term he could be an option.
One of the more impressive trainers on our list and he might make a decent leadership or captain option.

You're absolutely right about him not being a guaranteed best 22 player... yet. I reckon Bont is captain for at least another 3-4 years so by that time, I have faith that O'Donnell has all the traits to be a best 22 player and also be in the leadership group.
