Hey - I totally get that POV. I have no idea what his numbers were (didn't look and don't really care) because it's not the numbers I'm trying to question - rather how he's winning (mostly receiving) the footy...and particularly receiving it ahead of the play.

I'm not sure how that's going to be long-term sustainable...

    Anyway.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

You've kind of cherry picked one part of my post and not given the rest of it consideration.

Or perhaps you thought the rest of it was bullshit so you stuck with the first bit! Be that the case, that's OK, was just trying to think about why he might be where he is as I wasn't overly impressed with him even if he did get his hands on it a bit. I also only watched the second half.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

To my eye he runs on his heals a lot which means he will struggle to be explosive and be one-paced. I didn't notice him pop up in the d50 a few times on sat but I doubt that he could get from deep in the d50 to the d50 in good time during a match. I guess that's what you have wingers for though...

Nah...well, yeah, but nah. I mean, you kind of lost me a bit with the Daicos/Sheezel stuff because they've 'done it' whereas Sanders hasn't - and until he does it you cant throw him in that boat - but I was happy enough with the rest of it. I guess I just dialled in on the stats comment because I genuinely didn't look at any numbers and was trying to stick to my observations of the kid playing and I thought the 28-touches thing made a nice counterpoint.

              Anyhow.

In my untrained eye he just looks a bit of a plodder with no real weapons, we've burnt a really good pick we did a look of work to get.
                The curse is dead.

Fair. I guess I feel we might be dealing with a different player if he was given that/ their entry into the AFL versus the one we have. Never know I guess.

I don’t think he’ll be the midfield big dawg we may have hoped for when drafting him, but Freijah will take that spot anyway. He’s a nice second banana, and is finding his feet more each week. Knows where the goals are too.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

He's gone from not being able to pull the trigger to save his life to almost being able to pencil him in for a goal in every game. Love it.

I was worried about his dawdling but this new role suits him as a set up a shot for goal.
He is very quick with his hands and has a great perception of what is around him to spot up a kick or handball that leads to shots at goal .

                              Um - can I say I don't know?

He's got an interesting role right now and I'm enjoying what he's doing...I'm still not totally sold he's going to be a 'real' inside mid but he's so young still.....I mean - worried is no longer the word - he's obviously is a very smart player who's figured out a way. I guess if I was to post it now after the most recent Essendon game (nice synergy with the re-post also coming after a Bombers game) I would say "I'm curious about Sanders".

The "I'm worried about Aaron" post has aged pretty well though I'm sad to say.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Agree. His disposal by hand especially first half was elite. Hoping he continues to improve his tackling & pressure efforts, as well as grunt to win contested balls. I think he is improving and will justify the high draft pick he cost.
