Just one for me and it’s the start of the season so far. I can’t remember a better start to the year sitting at 2-1 with Ali most pinching the pies game. We are totally in this to our eyeballs and normally we would be sitting bottom 6 after three rounds. The troops are coming and if we can keep ahead of the ledger until they get back WOW great team effort
    BB.

Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.

No Brownlow votes for Cripps – was that Kennedy?

So many of the bottom 6 to 10 players really played well, ranging from VDM to Kharmis to Davidson down to even Dolan when he came on.

Recycled players, such as Kennedy, Harmes, and even Baker played well.

            Anchors

Jesus, in the first half we made so many errors, quite a few of them weren't even forced.

            Something is wrong with Naughton.

How did Kemp score so many goals?
The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.

The fact he was against Silvagni, a solid dependable player but no star, and still couldn't get involved at all, is a real indictment on him.

In the last 3 weeks has had maybe 2-3 quarters of good football. Last year he was influential roaming the ground as that CHF role. Is he still doing that or are we planting him forward more without JUH? I think he needs that space to work TBH because a switched on defender will not let him have the run and jump he needs in d50 anymore.
Actually reckon Jack Silvagni is an excellent footballer who can play multiple roles well, mostly undersized. But that's by and by.

Naughton needs to give himself some easy kick opportunities to get into the game at times. He's a bit of a double down and then get angry type of player who keeps doing the same shit over and again, building up his frustration, where instead of doing that he could get a bit further up the ground (defenders are happy to let him roam), get his hands on it and feel good without some pressure here and there.

I'll never doubt his effort (and I don't doubt he's still working his way into the season after interrupted preparation), but his lack of smarts makes thing difficult from time to time.
              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

                - The pre-season, we lost a few troops, but the tail of this list are working their tails off, covering the ground, and the profile of this team has changed. We would be 0-3 without a fey key troops in years gone by.
                - Sam Davidson, it's only 3 games, but what he is doing is changing this team and dragging a few with him.
                - Sam Darcy, Weitering is a beast, and combined with poor kicking in the front half, the big fella had him. Darcy worked shit out, high IQ and strong personality to go with the athletic traits and skill

                Anchors:
                - First quarter, Harmes is wide open deep 50. Naughton, sprints towards him, dragging Weitering with him, and ruins what should have been an easy uncontested mark inside 50. It is just dumb, low IQ play, and Naughton should be better than that, this far into his career, and a leader. (Not fussed about his overall 2, bad games, it is just a reminder how important pre-season is, and if he stays healthy, he will come good).
                - 2nd Quarter we finally had some momentum, center bounce, we end up with JOD,V TDK, easy clearance and goal. I don't care who rucks around the ground for 20% game time, but you can't allow that to happen, and is a coaching/bench error.
                - Players not taking the simple, first option, often enough

                  - There's some mongrel back in this side at last, I feel the balance is a lot better. Darcy is a massive leader in this sense he actively seeks it. LVDM another.
                  - Davidson's tank. Man he has that Bailey Smith quality of staying strong over the four quarters whilst others tire. He's filling the gap left by Hunter.
                  - Harmes. He's performing his role to perfection currently. Banker. I said Banker HD and JD.

                  Anchors

                  - Naughts form. Boy it's hard to watch him currently, looks really lost and devoid of confidence. He's never had the greatest footy IQ however atm its at its lowest ebb. Spoiling Harmes case in point. Backing him to come good after a tough pre season.
                  - Turnovers. Really killed us early I think all of the Blues scores were from turnover. Many were seemingly unforced. Ed was a major contributor, we need to take first option.
                  - Lack of chopping arm frees to Darcy. They're going to not pay them because...oh we can't pay too many to him type of scenario. It's crazy how else do they spoil when his arms are up.
The club needs to tailor a package of all of them including the rubbish in the final and send it to AFL house.
                  BT COME BACK!

Agree regarding Silvagni. When he was out of favour in last year or two (not the acl recovery) I thought it would be good to see if he wanted to play for us. Gutsy, never stops trying, pretty skilled and versatile.
