We need runners back in the side, and if the medical staff say its ok then play him.
Its also near the end for him, he can't play vfl this week, why did we even list him(contract or not) this season?
And? Why do I need to argue if he's good enough to play AFL? He likely doesn't have the match fitness to run out a game so if you want to bring him in as a runner then, again, I just disagree that it's a smart way to go.

Obviously the medical staff know him well enough to make a collective call and maybe he has enough of a tank from pre-season still but ultimately it's not the same as playing a match. You've seen how the players are in pre-season games. If he is fatigued it impacts his running, his decision making and his execution.

Happy for him to prove me wrong

To me it's Hynes and JJ in, Baker and Vandermeer out.

They're not like for like but Bailey Smith missed 18 months of footy and looks perfectly fine.

I'm fine with JJ returning if we've ticked his fitness off. He has history with coming back in after a long layoff and still performing OK. Reality is we aren't flushed with options and it's not like he hasn't played ANY footy. He played a few in the backend of the VFL season and showed in the VFL PF he's still got quality.

He was also having a very good preseason prior to the injury.

I'm more worried about his body holding together as opposed to his quality. He absolutely can still play.

Not sure JJ is gonna get much match fitness playing VFL, if we didn’t think he was ready for a game then sure a half in the VFL but if he’s fit he’s experienced & fit enough to slot straight back in IMO. Whilst we’d never write off a game let’s be honest if we lose this week it’s not really a big deal, start prepping the team for the coming weeks and a fit Jj with a week of AFL footy under his belt is a good thing for us. Praying he can somehow find some consistency with his fitness

Interesting. JJ back with leadership and speed is perfect.

Haynes a nice replacement in the forward line and Cleary was good at the start of the year.

all in all we are in this up to our eyeballs and I have a sneaky feeling we get em this week
                      BB.

Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.

Yeah it makes the management call look a little off doesn't it.

I don't think the comparison holds up because Smith had a full pre-season and played the pre-season games, same as everyone else.

But in Bevo we trust, I guess. At least it isn't Balarat or Canberra.

Khamis is the luckiest player on the list.

He is selected! Even if he does play, you'll never admit you were wrong?
