Imo it depends on Naughton and English having good games and Serong being curtailed.

      Great effort GG.

      Freo:
      - Great stoppage side. Strong focus on rucks 'follow-up'/'join-in' work...Darcy and Jackson are the prototypes for what they want around the clearance. Brayshaw and Serong both elite level at the stop AND in transition. Without Young (who played WAFL yesterday) there's a bit of drop away after that though O'Meara was very good in the first 2-weeks...turned back the clock a little. Johnson coming along though prone to trying to do too much and presents as a tackling target...HAVE to stick them.

      - Outside players are the outlets. Wings/Half-backs/Hi Forwards. These roles remain connected - both down the line and for 45-degree moves. You will often see Clarke run a 45-degree pattern from the defensive outlet to kick to the fatside winger in lane 3/4. Understand your comments about Sharpe but he is a runner playing a role - is there as an outlet player + outlet protection defensively. Athletically excellent which is what is needed in this system. Fredericks and Banfield do the same thing from ahead of the game (half-forwards) and get right up (connected to the wingers to support).

      - They tend to be slow-slow-fast with their ball movement. inclusion of Dudley imporrtant last week in Walters continued absence as they have 3x marking talls up front but their high forwards are often so high they can't provide ground ball support...

      - Treacey obviously excellent - don't discount Voss who must have taken 5 marks inside 50m last week (poor finishing marred his game) and Amiss as genuine threats...

There's a reason these guys were top 4 fancies pre-season...big game.

      Thanks heaps for the preview!!
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

MJP loooove this thanks so much.

Slow slow fast, I was trying to put into words how they did this as I noticed this pattern.

Getting a marking position attacking centre (usually a half forward like Frederick), slowing it down and waiting for the three talls to be deep for eg. and then the long ball to twenty out.

Voss is much better than Victorians realise, in fact Fremantle are much better than most realise. I'd discount that first game.

Lane 3/4? What does this mean.

Sharp I was trying to work out his role, it can be hard from the TV so thanks !

Good analysis is hard to find so I hope we can make this preview a great source of info for the woof community.

            Cracking work mate.
What time can we expect next weeks .
A key focus from all of this for me, and it is more about the dockers top 4 prospects, is they have leg speed, can move the ball fast, but mostly don't.
They seem to not want to use their assets and strengths.
I think this version of the dogs can run with them, we don't have to worry about that anymore.
Scores from stoppage might be the edge in this one, for the winner, rest of the game to be even.

They run hard on turnover, but controlled entries are as MJP described. Take their time.

                Outstanding work GG.

It will be interesting to see how we structure up forward - whether Ryan goes to O'Donnell or takes a smaller type and tries to get to the fall of the ball, ignoring our crumbers.
I think he can be vulnerable when he has to defend on be on one (rather than zoning off and reading the ball).

The danger man is Serong who is in good form. Maybe Harmes runs with him, a bit like he did against Cripps and try to stop him around the stoppages. I don't like Buku on Treacy, pretty sure he got beaten last time we played over there.
                  Prophetic on Serong!

Very good player even back when he was at Warragul.

Truthfully it was a labour of love. I'll try and put something together each week and refine it with the help of some learned woofers.
                          Cheers for the feedback.
Ohhhh there is now a rod.
