Sam Darcy is our Most Important Player

It's in the title. He's more important than Bont now.

    Change my mind.

    Nope, I agree with you.

He might actually be the best player in the game already.

          I'm with you.

If he's out I'm more upset than anyone else. Bont clearly a bee's knee in it but we've shown we can compete without the main man.

No Darcy who is the focal point ?

          Naughton? He's a defender ffs !

We lost 17% of games without Bontempelli since we drafted the Bont, so recency bias may be creeping in a bit.

I suspect this thread is 1 year too early. Sam Darcy is however the most exciting player we've brought into the club since Bontempelli.

With Darcy now being the main focal point, it gives Naughton opportunity to be the free running forward. He is atheltic enough.
Also when Bont is back, he can play more forward time.
Yes, Darcy has now become our most important player.

                He was Bont like today.

How was the handball to JOD?

I guess I get the OP. We have a fleet of good mids but only one Darcy.

I totally get the hype. It's almost overlooked how much his non-dominant kicking has improved over summer, simply because his marking is incredible.

I'm not saying he's a better player than Bont.

But for our team...he is more important.

Replace Darcy with Poulter (is he the next best fit forward?) and Sanders (probably last picked mid) with Bont, I think we're worse off.

Who else in our squad can put up a stat line of 5 goals, 21 disposals, 11 marks, 3 clearances?

Pick 1 in a league wide re draft.

Agree he is our most important. With Naughton struggling, and no JUH he is our only reliable route to goal, and on top of that creates so much across half forward as well.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

The scary part. He is only just getting started.

Sell this to Butters - “Can you imagine playing with your hero and a future dogs great in Darcy! You can be part of this legacy!”
