Cleary has to go that was putrid. Feel sorry for him but two crucial turnovers by foot at CHB led to the first two of Geelong's goals in the second quarter. It was the start of the shit storm. Bevo couldn't sub him out quick enough. His decision making by foot has been sketchy for weeks.

I'd drop Cleary and move Williams back replace Williams with JF on a wing and bring Treloar in as part if the mid rotations.

Not sure what to do with Duryea he looks cooked but the cupboard is bare.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Hasn’t Williams been playing back as the third tall?
More of an In Bruges guy?

I'm not sure this is the week to bring a tall defender in given Hawthorn's forwards aren't giant, and last time we played them we just couldn't move the ball out of their D50.

Cleary had a stinker but you don't drop a guy on his games tally over one stinker on an otherwise solid upwards trajectory. Especially when he had a lot of partners in crime wreaking havoc under a leadership group that couldn't calm the farm for two quarters.

Duryea is showing too many signs of decline. I'd replace him with Gallagher, on the proviso Treloar isn't ready. Gallagher was apparently excellent in the twos, and we'll need his run against a quick Hawks team.

I'll await an injury update, we might get lucky with Treloar and Darcy, while Liam Jones might be considered fit enough and ready to have another go.
          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I would not bring in an extra tall defender up against the Hawks, especially if Darcy is back, as it means we have the option of switching back Buku.

As Mofra mentioned, we struggled to move it out of D50 in the EF against the Hawks smaller fwd line. I’d actually look to improve quality of the backline and move Freijah back there.

I get the reasons to keep in Cleary. His type is really valuable but I don’t trust him when he heat is on. If only one of Darcy or Adz returns, I’d give him another chance.

            In: Darcy, Adz
            Out: Doc, Cleary.

Agree with this, if we're worried about escaping the back 50 then Cleary is also a concern. The issue of his disposal choice and execution has been highlighted before the Geelong match so it's not just dropping him off the back of one game.

Freijah has been struggling a bit since his really big breakout games but was dominating in the d50 preseason and I think we both need him back there and he'd benefit from a bit of continuity back there to settle back down.

If Adz comes back in, then Freijah should go back.

You can play a taller player on Ginnivan. As far as professional athletes go, he is an ordinary athlete, he won't beat you for speed or agility.
Dylan Moore, again, you can be bigger; it is more, can you compete at ground level? Being taller is rarely a problem if you are a good athlete.
Get the matchup right on Watson.
I am more concerned about having enough quality ball users coming out of 50, I would hard tag Dale, until we prove otherwise.
Williams D4, Freijah D5, with 3 talls can work, obviously Gardener, Jones or Buss, need to play as the deepest if they play.

Treloar for Duryea, play Treloar at half back.

Jones for Baker, play Jones forward.

                      There. I’ve finally lost it.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Scott, Buss and Treloar need to come back in. Scott would free up Freijah to play more across the half back line, I think he has more impact when he's not a fulltime Mid.

Cleary, Duryea and Bramble. Having a mid as sub (Scott) gives us more flexibility, we have plenty of guys who are able to play that hbf role.

Freijah. He has already lined up next to daicos, neale and butters.
Can't see it going any worse than Duyrea.
And Im not saying to go that tall, more trying to point out height is not the problem, a lack of mobility, agility, speed ect is the problem to solve.
There are a lot of short athletes in the AFL, because we don't have enough tall ones, who are still elite all-round athletes.
