All good points. Quality players missing bit others stepping up.
That was a good performance by English
Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"
1. Making players wait isn't always a bad thing - Buss and Cleary good examples.
2. Impact > statistics. Westy demonstrates this perfectly.
3. Bevo still has it. We completely changed strategy at quarter time (Lobb forward, nixing the short kick game) and it absolutely worked.
1. Freijah could win a Brownlow some day.
2. Trading Macrae and Daniel, while sad, was the right decision.
3. Our drafting these last two years has been pretty fantastic.
1. Busslinger looked like an AFL player, still has work to do but confidence in him longterm is high
2. James O'donnel is a serious athlete, all over Hogan when he figured out not to wrestle with him but to sit behind and leap. Very good game after shaky start.
3. Freijah is the best young player we have had since Bont, sometimes he looks better then Bont ever dreamed of being at 19 with his pace and power. Spending time on a wing to showing he can play everywhere. Scary and hard to contain him.
1. this midfield is something special. Libba in vintage form, Kennedy a hard nut who uses it well, Richards’ dash, the bull-at-a-gate attack on the ball from Fridge, the Bontempelli lad rounding things off nicely. And it feels like Tim English has a better connection with them somehow. The mids are more…proactive, is that the right word? They really make the play at stoppages, how many times was it a toe poke, a hand to the ball but always driving forward.
2. Our coaching regroup and reset brilliantly this season, in-game adjustments after hot opposition starts have always been effective, and we then have a real ability to counter punch.
3. West has often frustrated me, he’s one of those players, but he’s a really important cog in our team.

Tim smashed Briggs and helped himself to 23 disposals, 8 marks and 34 hitouts
Best game of the year for Tim. I think his ceiling looks higher than it has in a long time with his ruckwork and physical aggression coming good (finally).

Comparing it to 16 and 21, I think this group might be the best I've seen. Still missing Treloar but Bont is moving super well and, if I'm comparing to 21, I think I prefer Richards and Kennedy over Dunks and Smith. Fridge vs younger Macrae is tough but might not be by the end of the year. Long way to go but there's a lot to like and we've reinvigorated our aging midfield pretty quickly
1. Our fitness is impressive, as is our determination.
2. We don't need a forward line to win.
3. We could win the premiership this year.
On point 3: Everyone is suddenly changing their tune on the "Dad's Army" Pies and have decided they can win it.
Well:
If we finished off the game against the Lions and kicked one more goal against the Pies we would be equal top. Could've, should've, would've and all of that, but I think we are highly underrated at this point.

Seemed really noticeable the way the whole team played off each other, created and backed up. Great team performance and really good discipline with implementing the coaches instructions on game plan and in game changes.
They were all over us like a spray on Trump tan in the first. We looked slow and made unforced errors.
Our experienced players - Bont, Libba, Richards, Kennedy, Hafmes - stepped up to steady the ship in the second.
Third quarter was a complete smashing.of them - very even performance across the ground. Lobb forward - a courageous move given our lack of experience down back - and it worked as he booted two goals.
West is a terrier on steroids up forward. So hard at it; he creates stoppages for us.
Freijah is a smooth mover who can play anywhere - and he is tough.
We have been better for longer in most games this year. Good signs.
