Maybe just as interesting was in pre season how far behind others he was in the 2 km time trials. While watching his performances in the pre-season, I was sure this would be his last year. Glad I’m wrong.

From training, did you think Buss. was ready Smads?

His training form was effective and he carried that into the VFL season. I don’t think his general training form was the reason holding him back from a debut, it was more his ability to hold/nullify an opponent - particularly a bigger bodied opponent. There is still room for improvement in this area and also a need to tidy up ‘mis kicks’ he invariably completes at least once/twice a game.

Thanks for that. It was a pretty solid debut, wasn't it. Seems the type that will keep his head down working on his game.

Just back from Canberra and had to have another look at an incident I didn’t like the look of. About 7 minutes into 2nd qtr Lachie bramble kicked the ball out on the full where Adam Kingsley was coaching from. Kingsley immediately relayed the ball to one of his players so theycould get a quicker transition.they did score a goal from this..I don’t believe he should be able to touch the ball at all .it gave gws an immediate advantage, every split second counts..He was a metre away from boundary line.obviously we don’t have a coach who coaches from the boundary line.Would Kingsley have given the ball to a bulldogs player? It may not be against the rules but it certainly should be

Don't think there are any rules about this sort of incident
