Congratulations to Jason Johannisen - 200 games

    image.png

    His Bio from club site:

Drafted by the Bulldogs as a rookie in 2010, Johannisen has forged a reputation as a speedy and exciting player. After playing just 27 games in his first three seasons, he flourished under coach Luke Beveridge, averaging 20 disposals from 20 games in 2016. Johannisen's game-breaking ability was on full display on Grand Final day, amassing 33 disposals on his way to winning the Norm Smith Medal.

It has taken a little longer than JJ wanted but injuries have cruelled him over the last few years. Exciting when he is up and about, JJ has been a great player for the RWB

Great player to watch when on song. Still one of the best runner's off half back. Why we tried to turn him into a forward for 3 seasons is beyond me!

Great player JJ. Been great watching him go about it. Just have loved his run of that half back line which has been important for us for many years.

2016 premiership player and Norm Smith Medalist.

            Congrats on 200 games JJ.

Despite injuries, he's maintained his desire and professionalism. A well deserved milestone for a celebrated veteran.
I do think he has understandably lost a half step, but I think he has shown a willingness to adapt his gameplay ( unless on the run fron outside 50 when the ump has just paid a gree kick!!).

Well done JJ. I'd love to see him get a clean run injury wise,; I think he could offer traits to take on a Duryea role next year at least.

I wonder where he sits out of our players who debuted post 2000? He’d be in the top 25 I suspect? He’s a great footballer to watch in full flight and will always be remembered (and perhaps bemoaned) for winning the Norm. Love his work. Well done on getting to 200 - he looked out the door or figured out at various times but has stuck it out and persisted. A real leader now in his own way.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Congrats JJ who can forget that run in the prelim that lead to the Bont goal.

Very glad that JJ has made it to this milestone, he certainly has earned it.

When he has been fit and his confidence up, he has looked every bit a club champion. Kicked some important goals. Norm Smith medal. Runs hard, competes.

I had him cooked a few seasons ago, his body was starting to let him down, he was getting shuffled about, took him a while to bounce back from that patch where opposition teams would just maul him week after week from before the bounce to the final siren.

Hope he plays well, gets some good continuity in his game this year and can be a part of what we might be able to do right now in 2025.

Onya JJ. Such an exciting player when in full flight. Let’s hope the boys can make Saturday arvo an especially good 200th for him. As one of the 3 remaining BullGods still in RWB and popular within group that might give us a little edge, at least at the start.
                            Josie :)

                            Our day will come
                            And we'll have everything.
                            We'll share the joy
                            Just like '54 again.
