    AFL Fixturing - stinks

After nine rounds, we have played at seven different venues, and it will be eight out of eleven games when we play Geelong. Compare that to Collingwood, who have played at four different venues. Travel-wise, we have been to Perth, Adelaide, Darwin, and Canberra. The whole fixture is a joke and only caters to the bigger clubs.

However, the good news is we will play 9 games at Marvel for the rest of the season, one in Ballarat, MCG, Geelong Brisbane and Sydney - so only two more interstate games.

We have a good record at Marvel and have won the last 8 games there.

Great chance to go undefeated at marvel, win Ballarat and who knows.

The only caveat being we choose to play at Ballarat and the pies game at the G. Ok it’s basically to make money we lose not gettting a fair deal. Agree on the bigger clubs. The Darwin game is an away game, not sure we would have won at Carrara. It’s the pies, blues, cats and bombers that never have to play the Norwoods and Darwins or against Geelong in Geelong. The problem is the afl is more interested in money making than running a fair competition

Any opportunity we get to play at the G I personally think we should take. You need to win there in September. Even though it is yet another fixture imbalance.

Agree but I think we would have won that game at marvel.
Pies play there twice every 3 weeks

The worst part is the “big clubs” then complain about the redistribution of AFL funds not being equal.

I would prefer to get less AFL money but get games against all the big Melbourne clubs twice at prime time in the best slots. This is what builds long term following. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy.

Is this a positive post or a negative post?
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

              Whatever you wish it.

I think first half is a nightmare travelling all over the place, but second half will suit us.

It's a bit like the elites gaming the system to ensure their privilege, and complaining about the playing field being levelled in any way - describing it as welfare. Like society, the big clubs don't get to be big clubs unless there are small clubs to be so at the expense of. However, they know that nobody ever really accepts "welfare" being dolled out to match the benefits of privilege.

The twenty years of horrible stadium deal inequity after the introduction of Docklands has been criminal. The AFL fixturing process giving favourable timeslots to cleaner stadiums and bigger clubs exacerbates the whole thing.
                TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Be nice of the media to acknowledge how well the Dogs are doing considering all the adversity we’ve had to start the year. They all had us bottom 6 but yet no praise when doing better than expected

Hopefully, they recovery well after Darwin, and we don't cope the double negative of being sent to Darwin, and then a flat performance, costing another win against a team, that if all is fair, we beat the Dons by 6 plus.
