I don't love that sort of thing either.
I don't mind us being combative and showing a bit of feeling, but if I was hyper critical - I'd say that we were a little too much that way last night between Laith Vandemeer (whose job seems to be to do that every week), and then Westy. I know a lot of the AFL players like their American sports and those sort of meme moments from those sports. Bailey Smith did the Allen Iverson style 'step over' a player in the goal square after a goal a couple of years back and I didn't love that either.
Maybe we don't like Essendon and really wanted to rub it in. I can relate to that with Essendon

 Although I do have a strong Yankee connection myself. My late father was from Redwood Village in California, and I have two sisters and other family members living at various points on the US map. I'm still notionally a dual citizen.
