I don't love that sort of thing either.
I don't mind us being combative and showing a bit of feeling, but if I was hyper critical - I'd say that we were a little too much that way last night between Laith Vandemeer (whose job seems to be to do that every week), and then Westy. I know a lot of the AFL players like their American sports and those sort of meme moments from those sports. Bailey Smith did the Allen Iverson style 'step over' a player in the goal square after a goal a couple of years back and I didn't love that either.

Maybe we don't like Essendon and really wanted to rub it in. I can relate to that with Essendon

Bevo and the match committee deserve a banker for their match-day coaching. The way we manipulated the Zach Reid match-up was a thing of beauty. We used players like Davidson who would make repeated hard leads up the ground forcing Reid go with him, which opened up a heap of space in our F50 and also removed the aerial threat of Reid as the best intercept mark in the competition the last month or so.

We just look dialled in on every level this season so far.

Yep, we used our wingers really well in this role with either Harmes or Davidson being responsible for dragging Reid out of our F50.

We seem to be going a really good job with our planning this year which is great to see.

Essendon were very chirpy and ultra-aggressive (no complaints from me) in our match with them last year, especially the likes of Durham and Caldwell - they especially got stuck into Libba when Stringer knocked him into next week. I reckon some of our blokes filed that away for the next time we played them. I don't mind it - the list of successful unsociable premiership teams is far longer than the the list of gentlemanly 'spirit of the game' ones.

Vanders is Vanders - he is obviously fulfilling his role as the designated pest, and I suspect he knows he will cop it hard from the opposition (and fair enough) when things don't go to plan in game.

Nothing remotely interesting or meaningful. I have been a long term Wilco Fan, and their album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot happened to be high on my rotation when I happened to be thinking up user names. Although I do have a strong Yankee connection myself. My late father was from Redwood Village in California, and I have two sisters and other family members living at various points on the US map. I'm still notionally a dual citizen.

Amazing identity revealed. We had a Californian redwood on our property in The Basin after Droop Street, the only tree I couldn't climb, close prickly branches.
One of my ancestors was Hettie Hembree, born and died in early settling of South Carolina. Irish husband and children then moved back to Ireland, then early settlers in Australia, they heard Trump was coming.

We are a better club when we pick a fight.

Like anything, it should be in moderation and you don’t want to be dickheads but if there is an opportunity to kick a team when they are down we should do it. Especially if that team is Essendon.
