Bankers And Anchors - Round 10, 2018 vs Collingwood

This is the round 10, 2018 edition of the Weekly Bankers and Anchors Thread. Once the game against Collingwood is concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys/aspects of the game that weighed us down by their errors or poor play

Please limit it to no more than three of each player or aspect of the game, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match - I will allow more freedom now as the thread seems to be going down more of the aspects of the game path so you can have 3 for each made up of aspects of the game and individual players.

The thread is named in honour of a popular WOOF Contributor, The Banker, who passed away on 22/04/2012 after a six month battle with cancer.

      Bankers

      1. McLean. Great work rate, just didn't have enough help in the middle.
      2. Williams/Suckling. Get a combined one for trying their guts out to make something happen off half back and Suckling has the long-range goals happening again.
      3. Trengove. Definitely growing on me with his work down back.

      Anchors

      1. Bont. There's something amiss here. Didn't look like firing a shot tonight.
      2. Gowers/Hunter/Dahlhaus/Boyd. I'm over so many gettable goals being missed. Their shots stuck out like sore thumbs.
      3. Crozier. I just don't see what value he adds.

        Bankers

        1. All the people who renewed their memberships
        2. Shipping off JMac & Dalrymple
        3. Richards, the only guy on our list who can deliver a defence splitting pass and he's a first year player

        Anchors

        1. Why did we let Graeme Lowe leave?
        2. Why did we fiddle with the coaching set up after 2016
        3. Match Committee - WTF?

          Bankers
          1. Mclean
          2. Williams. Made one awful error..more than made up for it.
          3. Suckling. A pity his most effective season has coincided with one of our team's most inept
          .
          Anchors
          1. Bont this is a first . An absolute, genuine, bonafide howler.
          2. JJ, Hunter, Wood... woeful leadership
          3. Crozier....VFL beckons..gosh we're on the hook for his salary for another 18 months. Who wanted him? Was this Dal or McCartney's MIC drop on their way out??

Richards. After some fumbles he really worked into the game.
            McLean. Have his all.
Trengove. Thought he fought well and generally used the ball well.

            A

No goals in the last half. Really? FFS
Missing easy shots. For someth8ng different.
Crozier. If there’s 2.5 more years of this form...

              Bankers

McLean- tried hard and had a crack

Macrae- found it 30 times yet again, even if his impact was limited

Dickson/Schache at least we have two players who you feel are a decent chance to convert. We just need to get the ball to them better.

              Anchors

Senior players- In a team with so many kids the experienced players are letting the team down. JJ, Dahlhaus, Wood have been bad more than they've been good. Bont had a stinker and has had a pretty ordinary year also. Roughead at least hit the scoreboard tonight but has been poor also.

Coaching group- Defense looks a mess, forward line is disgraceful and was last season too, and the defensive pressure is non-existent. Some calls need to be made and some new blood brought in. Bevo is the only untouchable for now.

Lack of passion and 4 quarter application. There seems to be no spirit at all in the current group. The men of mayhem looks a century ago.

                Bankers
                McLean, hardworking mid all night.
Suckling , having a very good season
                Trengrove, solid game

                Anchors
                Crozier, contributes very little.
Dale, has ability but contributes very little.
Cordy's concussion, hope it isn't too bad.

                  Bankers
Trengove- very solid in defence, showed what he will bring to the club

McLean- works his butt off, didn’t have too many mates tonight.

                  Dicko- accuracy at goal...hooray

                  Anchors
Crozier- brings nothing to the side. I’m sure he was trying to play a defensive role on Howe and did terribly.

Roughead- the goals were great but you’re in the side to play in the ruck. Grundy dominated you.

Dale- has gone backwards. He was one of the shining lights of late 2017, has had a shocking start to 2018.
                  "Loves a scrap....oh yeah & he's a pretty handy footballer as well"

                    Bankers

                    1. Sucklings kicking was great to watch - long and accurate. I was in the last row of 3rd level and had a birds eye view.
                    2. The general field kicking by most of the players was excellent last night
                    3. Great to see Schache get his first goal in the RWB and every player went to him.

                    Anchors

                    1. Our lack of ability to transition the ball from the backline to the forward line - quickly. It was just so slow which allowed the Pies to cover all the forwards.
                    2. Dale, Crozier need to be dropped and find some form
                    3. 4 points in a half of football is a disgrace.

                      B

McLean - hit the contest with an intensity that put most of his teammates to shame, probablyly 2nd in our b&f I'd reckon,
Backline - given we lost Cordy before half time and Collingwood were allowed to breeze the ball through the midfield with minimal resistence, keeping them to 14.9 wasn't a bad result. Williams and Richards are developing really nicely and Suckling and Trengove were solid,
First quarter - sad it couldn't be maintained, but that 5 goal to 1 burst was very exciting and something to build on

                      A

Our inability to find anything when the opposition gets on top. Disturbing,
                      Dale - not giving enough
                      Crozier - ditto

It was obvious last week that these are the 2 that should've been dropped but somehow Wallis, Dunkley and Webb were. Dunkley however earned his demotion.
