Yea I agree. I wouldn’t mind seeing him as a defensive forward. He’s a good lick, clearly a defender and with experience he could be an absolute hand fill for many sides. I recon he would know how to block and create space for Darcy no problems at all

love Garcia in and hope he rips it apart
    BB.

Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.

Not stoked with the changes either but I think our hand might have been forced a bit, seems like the Davidson/Harmes illnesses sprung up late.

Like your creative thinking regarding Duryea.

He (Doc) played up forward against Geelong and was utterly horrible.

We might get away with it against North, but it isn't a viable option against a competitive team.

Sure it's nice to have a number of players debut in a season but it's not like we haven't rewarded in form younger players so I don't quite see the need to rush it. He will probably get a game soon enough.

He's been an emergency two weeks in a row so somebody is considering him.

I'm not sure how McNeil survives. I get the illnesses play a part but Lachie hasn't been up to standard for a long while. Id rather Dolan at this point.

Dolan isn’t ready yet. I don’t like McNeil but it’s all we got.
I suspect Dureya is there to provide a level head in times of panic.

Reckon McNeil would be out if Harmes and/or Davidson weren't ill.

When I look at the onfield team without the bench I feel good-bar Garcia, he's a shot in the arm.
Duryea feels like we're going backwards.
McNeil is lucky he isn't sick too.
Poulter, I don't trust but he might finally click at this level?
                    Coffield, mehh, okay whatever.
Khamis is very unlucky, I understand he needs a full game so why not just give him one! -instead of playing an extra worn out defender. Buku can swing back and ruck.
It seems like madness and I have the dreaded Match Committee vibes of 2023. Hopefully our systems hold up and I'm worrying for nothing.

Nothing exciting about the changes apart from Garcia , his picked up plenty of the football the last 2 weeks and deserves a shot .
As much as i think the step up to senior football is to much for Poulter , he has done remarkably well since moving forward , guys like Poulter have to realise , that given a chance they need to preform , if they dont they are back to square one , so its all on him to show a bit more desperation , and to take his chances when they are offered .
Duryea has been very solid down back in the 2's , and maybe will be the sub , just for that cool head late in the game if things dont go to plan .
McNeil as Gary has alluded may have some credits in the bank , but they must be running out quickly , once again he let the side and himself down , again missing a set shot from 35 mts , in my eyes if he had kicked that goal it would have put us up 35 odd points and i dont think Sydney came back as hard as they did , its one thing beating up on the poor sides totally different when he goes missing against the top sides .

Considering the forced outs, happy that Garcia and Poulter have been given a shot. I watch Footscray and they have been consistent performers. Poults foot skills, hard running and finishing has impressed me but must put it together in the seniors. Sunny's got the aggression, run and accumulates but just needs to adjust and not give away silly free kicks. Fingers crossed.

I don't usually post much about selection ... however. Point one. The Injury Gods have given us a pummelling and now the Illness Gods have sidled up to sink the boot in. Cunning timing by them as Davidson has been flying and Harmes, although quiet v the Swans, is always capable of snagging a sausage and providing a bit of controlled aggression.

Point 2. Buku is stiff to be dropped. He is versatile and has taken his chances when he gets them. Same cannot be said for some other players who have been named many times.

Point 3 Garcia. I like what he has shown at times. He's had a number of "almost" break out games but just couldn't get over the line. This is a gold plate opportunity to hold a spot in the team in the run up to September. He must realise this and grab it with both hands. I wish him well.

The illness gods have hit North harder than us.
Wardlaw is their only mid that worries me - he's brilliant.
Xerri & Larkey are the only other players they have that win their position with any regularity.

McDonald has played good footy this year too (surprisingly) and Parker is a big out too.

That's overstating . He was sub for a reason then vs Richmond 3 kicks in a half isn't that good. Last week it was 2 kicks and 1 clanger when he didn't need to panic. Buku vs Grundy in the ruck would have been scary.
                              Nothing like 2023 match committee.

We are playing North if we can't win with those changes then we have bigger problems
