Congratulations to Tom Liberatore - 250 Games

Tom has been one of the most consistent performers in the RWB since he debuted in his first year in 2011 and averaging over 23 disposals in his career. Despite two ACLs, Tom has continued to contribute to the club at a high level at the club his father Brownlow Medalist Tony played.

Tom is a lovable character and despite his funny antics off the field, he is a professional trainer who works hard and bleeds RWB.

Congratulations Tom, have a great game.

[The bulldog tragician]

Libba is one of those guys you always feel “ gets” our club and could play nowhere else, and that just isn’t because of the family connection.

There is always a wicked glint in his eye when he’s out there. I’d love to know some of the words he uses to get inside heads of the opposition.

i fondly remember the suffocating unbearable pressure of our final v Brisbane in 2021. It was like a furnace, the lead switching around constantly. There was a stoppage and I remember noticing (unfortunately from locked down Melbourne) Libba awaiting the ball up, with a mischievous expression which I somehow read as: How good is this. There’s nowhere I’d rather be.

I think of him as the guy who “carries the fire” for us.. which not so coincidentally is a line from the book The Road (which is also about a father son relationship). He is our heart and soul and I’m sure a more interesting and complex person than virtually anyone in our team. Thanks Tom.

Times I didn’t think he’d get there due to injury but we are very fortunate he has. An incredible (and underrated outside of our walls) player across the journey. A true Bulldog.
