Always Right Match Committee R21 vs GWS 2025

Welcome to the Always Right Match Committee Thread. The Match Committee threads has been named after long time WOOF member Always Right who tragically passed away in March 2018.

If you were on the Western Bulldogs match committee, what changes would you make after our Round 20 match against Essendon for our Round 21 match against GWS at Marvel on Friday.

For those new to these threads, please give a brief explanation for your changes ... this would add a lot of value to the discussion.

I think Williams has been off the boil for the last few weeks so I would like to see who steps up for Footscray so I have him in my gunsight.

I will wait for the VFL, but it is a short run to Thursday.
Sorry McNeil - but 2 kicks and 5 handballs doesn't cut it

He also seems to be choosing the wrong options and disposal very hit or miss and doesn't move with any confidence.

If I was Bevo and I wanted to be ruthless:

                Out: Williams, McNeil, Vandermeer
                In: Sellwood, Harmes, Arty

If I was Bevo and I wanted to back experience v GWS, then I'd just do McNeil and Vandermeer for Harmes and Arty Jones. Give Truck one more opportunity, he has been a reliable contributor.

I love him, but Friejah's form since the Swans game is a concern now. Making poor decisions (especially by hand) and trying to walk through tackles like he's invincible.

I wish we rested him against the Bombers for a freshen up.

Very short turnaround for the VFL lads. Ideally we manage minutes for anyone being considered for AFL selection.

Can't understand why people are suggesting Arty waltzes back into the side in a season defining game off the back of a 6? week hammy, get serious. Wouldn't be surprised if no change but McNeil and Poulter need to show more. If Harmes gets through the VFL tomorrow I'd be tempted to chuck him in to ruffle a few feathers, especially cowardly thug Greene.

I also don't understand why people are suggesting Sellwood who has never played AFL

Is that really an issue? People love seeing new players, that's the attraction for some members to suggest him.
His form at the VFL level and on training track will dictate his selection and he was an emergency last night so he might be around the mark.

not sure why people are suggesting dropping Williams who would be top 5 in our BnF and has had a fantastic year

Today's game will be critical for the selection.
There is still a spot for Davidson, assuming Harmes gets through the game he is probably a no brainer and L.Jones must sense an opportunity to get back ion the mix.

Every player who played 100 or more had never played before their first game.
