Welcome to the Always Right Match Committee Thread. The Match Committee threads has been named after long time WOOF member Always Right who tragically passed away in March 2018.

If you were on the Western Bulldogs match committee, what changes would you make after our Round 22 match against Melbourne for our Round 23 match against West Coast Eagles at Marvel on Sunday.

For those new to these threads, please give a brief explanation for your changes ... this would add a lot of value to the discussion.

Harmes didn't play VFL so I dare say he's not in the frame. I think he needs VFL time to be considered.

Ah ok. Thanks- heard he was sick so yes makes sense to come back via VFL.

Garcia in for VDM, Scott in for McNeil, perhaps Jones in for O'Donnell and I would like to see Sellwood trialled against WCE.

Poulter and VDM just have to go, Poulter is a crab, offers zero. Straight swap for Davo is easy. He’s a pretty boy footballer, put him on the ground in an 80 pt win he’ll contribute. Is there a world in which an afl team wins a hard fought final with Poulter on the ground? Nup.

VDM tries hard but geez he is a horrid footballer, I genuinely don’t think he has any ability. Good athlete, shithouse footballer - straight swap for Dolan.

McNeil sub, Garcia into the team. Showed straight away how much more impact he has on the team.

It will be interesting to see if they bring Adz in for some managed minutes. He clearly is in our best 22 but time is running out to see how he goes on match day. We can’t take ten chance on him in the finals with out games prior IMO

VDM played himself out of the 22, even allowing for the knock. I really like him and thought his early season form was a true indicator of him as a footballer, but the continuity just hasn’t been there.

Garcia played himself into the starting line up.

Dont know what Dr Davidson has been doing in the VFL but would like him back in soon too.

We’re too far down the path now to change too much, but it’s hard to see how we are going to win important games against the best with the likes of VDM, McNeil, Sanders, Poulter and JOD giving such inconsistent performances.

Weightman comes straight back in, but hoping the likes of Davidson, Dolan, Hynes and Jaques have huge off-seasons and come in next year as permanent additions.

I’d like to Jaques a taste this week.

We need to make some changes but I doubt the MC will do much

Davidson and Dolan are probably the more likely likely additions.
Vandermeer and Poulter should be under the most pressure.
Busslinger could also be under some pressure. Perhaps we ask Williams to play as the 3rd tall defender or could Sellwood be a chance?

Lets hope Treloar and Harmes train fully and then play in this weeks VFL game.

No more Poulter. If Baker is locked in on the wing and Buku isn’t an option then maybe Davidson can play as our third tall?

Do VDM for Dolan, don’t do VDM for Dolan, who really cares.

Otherwise, I wouldn’t do it but I suspect we see Buss for Sellwood. In an ideal world we keep Lobb as the backup ruck and Darcy at full forward the whole time but I don’t think Bevo is comfortable when Lobb isn’t in defence, doesn’t want three talls, and is willing to go down with the ship on JOD.

Out VDM, Poulter. If we had a replacement, I would drop McNeil; however he should be sub next week and Garcia comes in.
