I vividly remember this game. I miss the Juice.

Margin: Dogs by a couple or 80+
      First goal: Davidson
Top goal scorer: Darcy with a Templetonian 15
      BOG: Libba and Darce

I'm confident we'll win, just not sure if we will wallop them. If Hawthorn can, no reason why we can't?
Should be the ultimate vibes game with Libba's 250th, even more so than Bont's, last week was a warm up.
North's centenary celebrations might overwhelm them? We saw how Sydney capitulated to the Crows by 90 the game where the club celebrated their 2005 Premiership.

Does a centenary celebration or off field milestone really have an impact on the average 22 year old running out on the field? I would say it has 0.1% influence on their performance.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

With those NM outs we SHOULD win by 40+ if we are switched on and legitimate. I’m picking us to get it done but wouldn’t suprise me to lose a close one as we are just getting some momentum.

Who amongst the outs is good?

                Darling?
                McDonald
                Fisher
                Parker
                Wardlaw

I mean, Wardlaw is a talented kid who can win the footy but tell me what else they have lost?

This game will 100% be played between the ears (and on the grass) and we would want to be ready. I really hope the players embrace the occasion (big tv crowd, Liber's 250) and play with great effort and energy...we'll see.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Wardlaw & Parker have been important cogs in their midfield. McDonald is their most experienced defender in a group that is super inexperienced.

Their most important missing piece is actually Comben, would have been their match up for Darcy.

Xerri is their key. Hopefully we took some lessons from last week about stoppage positioning and it serves us well tomorrow.

                        From AI:
The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, was established in 1869 and is one of the oldest football clubs in Australia. Initially known as Hotham, they joined the Victorian Football Association (VFA) in 1877 and then the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 1925, which later became the AFL. North Melbourne has a rich history, characterized by its inner-city location, working-class background, and the "Shinboner Spirit".
                        Wiki:
Founded in the suburb of North Melbourne in 1869 and based at the Arden Street Oval since the 29th April 1882, after playing its last game against Richmond at Royal Park on Saturday 22nd April, 1882, it is the 4th oldest club in the competition and one of the oldest surviving clubs in the world.

Playing football first at Royal Park (Jeemak Peter Thomson first played here) historically its home at Arden Street continues to serve as its headquarters
The club is also unofficially known as "The Shinboners", a term which dates to its 19th-century, which some historians say has abattoir-worker origins, others say the term has its roots in the Templemore Garrison/Citizen rules game, played pre-GAA in Tipperary Ireland and exported by Irish settlers to Hotham in the late 1850s who played with the embryonic Hothamites football playing club at Royal Park.
The club's motto is victoria amat curam, Latin for "victory demands dedication"
The borough was initially called Hotham, but the club primarily went by "North Melbourne Football Club" until 1876, [18] then Hotham,[19] as a foundation club of the Victorian Football Association (VFA) in 1877, before reverting to the original North Melbourne name in 1888.
The 1880s saw the club develop a penchant for inter-colonial travel with trips to Tasmania (1881 and 1887) and South Australia (1889). Hotham also found itself well represented at the first ever intercolonial representative game in 1879, with four players from the club gaining selection for Victoria.
the club won the championship in both 1915 and 1918 for finishing on top of the ladder, and accounted for VFL side St Kilda comfortably. During this period the club won 58 consecutive matches including 49 successive premiership matches, a record that has remained unmatched in Association or League history since.
On 30 June 1921, North told its players it would disband and try to gain entry to the VFL by the 'back-door'. Essendon League Football Club had lost its playing ground at East Melbourne and had decided to acquire the North Melbourne Recreation Reserve as a new playing ground. North accepted their proposal in the idea that the clubs would amalgamate. All of North's players were urged to join the Essendon League Club to help facilitate the amalgamation. The amalgamation was foiled when some members of the VFA launched a successful legal challenge.[65] As a result, the Essendon League Club moved instead to the Essendon Oval, replacing the ground's original occupants, Essendon Association.

North was now without a playing team and the Essendon Association Club was now without a ground, so as a matter of convenience the two clubs amalgamated so they could compete in the 1922 season. As it had after the merger with West Melbourne, North once again managed to avert its destruction. During this Period, North's main rivals were Footscray,[66] meeting them in three Grand Finals.

Woofers, amazing history of our great game and our neighbours.
AFL say 100 years like us but the Shinboners worked in Ballarat Rd at the slaughter yards and spilled the guts into the Maribyrnong to make Smelbourne.

How many from WOOF are going tonight?
An away game but Libba's 250th, Thursday night, cold and flu's are gripping Melbourne and of course the weather being cold might all stack up against a big Bulldog turnout.
