Bankers & Anchors: Rnd 18, 2025 vs Adelaide

This is the Round 18, 2025 edition of the weekly Bankers and Anchors thread. Once tonight's game against North has concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys/aspects of the game that weighed us down by their errors or poor play

Please limit it to no more than three of each player or aspect of the game, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match - I will allow more freedom now as the thread seems to be going down more of the aspects of the game path so you can have 3 for each made up of aspects of the game and individual player.

      Bankers

      I agree this doesn't feel like a banker/Anchor moment.

The whole team needs an Anchor for not rising to the challenge, yet again.

Instead I am going to give my Banker to the Ambulance crew, Doctors, Nurse and staff at he Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane.
My almost 10 yr old daughter spilled a cut of boiling hot water from cup of noodles directly into her lap Friday week.
She had been in hospital since, and the care there was amazing. From the outset they just all worked together amazingly well with complete dedication and good humour too, under stressful conditions.

Thanks to their wonderful care, my daughter came home Friday. She will make a full recovery, and we will find out tomorrow if she needs a small skin graft - but at this stage they say no.

So whilst I was disappointed in the game, I decided I just wasn't going to allow another flaky performance from the Dogs against tough opposition to send me into a doom spiral
So spent the rest of the evening playing games with my son and daughter.

I'm not even bothered going to the GABBA next week either. Lion's supporters no thank you.

Good to hear your daughter is going to be ok YHF.

Knowing our beloved doggies we might just snatch game vs Lions and watching on tv vs insufferable oppo fans will be way more enjoyable.
        Josie :)

        Our day will come
        And we'll have everything.
        We'll share the joy
        Just like '54 again.

YHF, that is awful for her. Glad to hear she is recovering. Must have been hard for you and your wife. All the best to her.

            Bankers

            1. Bont, what a performance with 38 disposals. He really tried to get us over the line and seemed to be everywhere, especially in the last quarter
            2. Naughton - 5 goals
            3. JOD Goal in the last off one step and kicked it over 50m

            Anchors

            1. Defending all over the ground in the second quarter to allow 6 goals and 4 from Thilthorpe - cost us the game.
            2. Naughton running into an open goal and kicking it out on the full
            3. Bouncing the ball in the centre and not recalling the ball that allowed at least two goals to Crows.
