Bankers & Anchors: Rnd 19, 2025 vs Brisbane

This is the Round 19, 2025 edition of the weekly Bankers and Anchors thread. Once tonight's game against Brisbane has concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys/aspects of the game that weighed us down by their errors or poor play

Please limit it to no more than three of each player or aspect of the game, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match - I will allow more freedom now as the thread seems to be going down more of the aspects of the game path so you can have 3 for each made up of aspects of the game and individual player.

Rhylee West turned up this week with energy, courage and 4 goals.
Aaron Naughton continued his good form over 4 quarters.
Marcus Bontempelli led the way with 10 tackles and nearly pinched the win for us.

      Anchors
McNeil and Vandermeer are simply not up to it imo, how long do we persist ?
Sam Davidson had a poor game by his standards.

        Bankers.
Jones. I know it wasn’t his best game but we just look better with him in the side. They did a great job IMO as the ball was coming in so often.
West - he is having a great year
Naughton - great to have him back. We can’t under estimate what impact not having a pre season makes.

        Anchors
Poulter - slender frame not sure he can impact a game as a sub. Might have a good tank but is at the back of the pack with that tile behind William, Doc and I would even but Scott ahead of him on the wing.
Sanders - We just need him to get the Mojo back. He seems to me to be “timid” at the contest and player.
Timmy - we need to somehow get him to get some aggression about him. I’ve never seen him angry or even mad.
        BB.

Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.

          1. The talls in the backline only conceded one goal to their talls. Jones helped this a lot and I felt three genuine tall backman is the way to go.
Brisbane's goals came from their smalls with Ashcroft bros kicking 5.

          2. West - great performance, does try to do a little too much, but he is giving 200% effort and was rewarded.

          3. Darcy, he is a real weapon. He can play up the ground as well as forward. Harris gave away 4 frees trying to contain him.

          Anchors

          1. Umpire for not having the guts to give a free in the dying minutes against Zorko - pathetic

          2. Turnovers

          3. MC for picking McNeil and Poulter
