Melbourne V Western Bulldogs R22, Sunday 10/8/25 MCG at 3:15pm

    Margin: Bulldogs by 24 points
    First goal: Aaron Naughton
Top goal scorer: Sam Darcy (5 goals)
    Best on ground: Ed Richards

Must win this game on Sunday. If we lose then it make our chances to play finals in danger. The Demons potentially could have a bounce with the coaching change but we have to rise to the challenge and get the job done.

I will be going along sitting at the Ponsford End Level 1 M32. Go Bulldogs!

Has no one done a thread about “WTF do we always play a club that has had their coach sacked?” - and it’s bloody Melbourne too! I hate their stupid, punchable heads. HATE them.

      I am nervous.

We should take it personally and rejoice in ruining them to the tune of 100 points and I hope we do.

Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

It's been mentioned a few times but it's just not true.

As far as I can tell (going back to 2012) we have played a team that has replaced their coach once - St Klida in 2019 when Richardson resigned and Ratten took over. Unfortunately we lost, although our record wasn't much better than theirs at the time - 8-8 v 6-10.

For those playing at home there have been 17 occasions of the coach leaving since 2012 (prior to this season) and we have copped 1 so it's pretty much as expected.

FYI the club has posted a 2 for 1 general admission ticket link on social media for this game.

Like Go Dogs, this game makes me nervous for obvious factors, and on top of that, Fritsch seems to be coming into some form, and we know what Melksham is capable of if he pulls it out his ass on any given day. Throw the MCG factor in, and yeah I’m nervous.

so I feel it will go either way, so I’m hedging my bets…

It's funny because I had the feeling we copped it a bit with playing clubs after sacking their coach. But I looked it up and found the same as you. Strange why so many of us think we have had a bad run.....

Maybe we just like to be the victim

Don’t ruin my narrative of being senseless victims of another sides tragedy.

We’ve played sides that were extremely close to sacking their coach. Like the media pressure was insane. Bolton in Rd 5 2019 and Scott for North later that year.

Knew there was something in it.

                      Did we kill those coaches?

it’s actually a shame the Dees didn’t hold out one more week and let us have the pleasure of a 100 point win leading to the sacking. Would’ve been therapeutic.

We don't have a choice, we must win this game to be a chance so motivation or nerves not a factor.
This time last year we dropped the ball to miss out. We've learnt that hurt.
