With the season on the line, lets hear about the 3 new things you learned from our R24 game against Fremantle?

    1. Croft looks great. But he needs to kick 10,000 footys over the preseason
    2. Arty looked good coming on. He should have started on field
    3. Clearly looks like he will come on nicely

    Anchors
    1. McNeil only one kick for the entire game.
    2. forward coaching. To many times our big boys flew for the same ball and geo just separated out backs at ease
    3. Bevo, I think you’ve coached really well this year but today wasn’t your best.
    BB.

Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.

      1. Artie and Croft can play, should start Rd 1 next year and West has really grown with the absence of Weightman

      2. Something is fundamentally wrong with our our whole ground offence, not just the back half half, has been for years and if it isn't changed in 2026 we will have a similar end to next season.

      3. Query whether Richard stands up in the big games, and I see little point in continuing to play JJ. Give Jacques and Sellwood a go next year.
The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.

Croft, Arty, Sellwood, Jaques, Hynes & Dolan need to play plenty of games next year.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Agree. That is our future right there. Look at Murphy Reid and how he performs. We need those guys to impact consistently from next year.

            1. We can’t defend the transition ball movement against the top sides.

            2. We don’t have enough talent in our back six. They were not helped with the way the ball was brought in at times, but we leaked way to many soft goals.

            3. Arty showed he deserves a place in the team. He has attributes that we lack. Croft is going to be a player. The way he runs, presents and competes in the air for a second year tall player was super impressive.

And Silvagni - we actually need to improve our list with quality senior talent like Adelaide and Freo did in the last off-season. We had a net loss of senior talent losing Smith, Macrae and Daniel and bringing in Kennedy.

                1. Losing in the last round and missing finals hurts BUT losing finals hurts 1000 times more (and the deeper you get the worse it hurts).
                2. Arty was an inspired choice as sub - turned the game when the excitement machine came on.
                3. We need to throw the kitchen sink at Zac Butters and an elite key defender too.

                  1. Arty looked good when he came on - maybe I was wrong about him.
                  2. Crofty is going to be a player.
                  3. Baker is better than I thought

And the falling away of Jones and Duryea, no replacement for JUH, Weightman and Treloar also sidelined.

                    1. In lieu of the above, plus the poor preparations of Naughton, early absence of Bontempelli and an eight week stint without Darcy we just haven't had the continuity in quality to put together the football the list could have been capable of against the best sides (and that's without counting a few others who haven't quite met the standard)

                    2. Arty can impact a game in a short period of game time, just like EasternWest said he would all along

                    3. Sometimes you learn that you never learn, which is what happened to us in the second today. The last time it happened was the last time we played Fremantle, so if you were ever going to learn it would have been from that, if you hadn't had enough learning opportunities in the past!
                    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

                      1. The Seddon Spy is right, we need more pacey players. More run, more dash and more poise.
                      2. We need a midfielder who can switch between attacking and defensive duties.
                      3. Darcy has a lot more scope for improvement.

I'm assuming there's no "3 things I've learnt" on a whiteboard after games down at whitten oval.

                          1. Our midfield still don't understand AFL football. It's like they don't understand what to do without he ball. But I'm the idiot who has to keep learning this every year.

                          2. Our defence needs senior reinforcements.

                          3. Our gameplan is not able to withstand pressure or quality sides. 8 years running. Why don't our coaches get this?

                            1. Croft can play
                            2. Going with the three tall setup for only the second game in a row was a big risk that didn't pay off with only 4 goals between Naughton, Darcy and Croft.
                            3. We won't compete for a flag until the defensive unit is sured up. Bob Murphy used to call it the men's department. Well they look like a bunch of scared boys every time it goes down there.

                              1. Vandermeer and McNeil have been around for a long time and are yet to become reliable contributors

                              2. JJ - not sure he's got too much more to give

                              3. Arthur Jones must play game 1 and must play until he proves he can't play - a la McNeil and Vandermeer.
