Bankers & Anchors: Rnd 24, 2025 vs Fremantle

This is the Round 24, 2025 edition of the weekly Bankers and Anchors thread. Once this afternoon's game against Freo has concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys/aspects of the game that weighed us down by their errors or poor play

Please limit it to no more than three of each player or aspect of the game, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match - I will allow more freedom now as the thread seems to be going down more of the aspects of the game path so you can have 3 for each made up of aspects of the game and individual player.

My man Baker didn't leave anything out there, and I thought he won his position.

Croft must've played one of the best second games in AFL of anyone, and was the best of the three tall forwards, which is a bit about him and a whole lot more about the other two's poor performance.

Jones might finally give us that X factor small forward.

I posted a few weeks ago that I thought Lobb was a poor one on one defender, certainly confirmed today

I still don't understand whyMcNeil is in the team

First quarter goal kicking inaccuracy when we were on top, and then letting them get what seven or eight goals in a row slightly later in the game. A good team doesn't do that

1. Bulldogs supporters who showed up - 44,000 plus - defeaning screaming when we kicked goals
2. Bont - tried his heart out to lift the team - what a star
3. Younger players like Davidson, Croft, O'Donnell, Cleary, Darcy, Cleary, Freijah, along with Dolan, Hynes, and even Sanders will be better next year. Future looks bright

Anchors

1. Winning 14 games and not making Finals - sucks
2. Losing 9 games with the biggest loss being 22 points - overall sounds good, but we need to win some of those close losses.

1. Freijah will be a star next year
2. Baker and Bramble have become good players
3. Riley West had a very good year. Goes hard at the ball

Anchors
1. Missing easy shots- same old, same old.
2. Bombing into forward 50 - same old, same old
3. Midfield going Missing in 2nd quarter - same old, same old

Bankers:
1. Baker - there was a passage in the 3rd where he took possession and saw nothing for us in F50. The old Baker would have bombed it to Freo's defenders but he held onto the ball, draw a couple of opponents and then dished off by hand. We got a goal out if it.
2. West - competed really well and had a strong defensive intent all game, also nailed his chances when they came.
3. Erasmus - not a bad audition for his new club
