Are we the best 9th placed team ever though ? , or are we the worst of the top 9 teams ?.
I dunno apart from 2016 where we just played out of our skins and a good run in 20 21 , we just seem to fail in times where we shoudn't .
This year couldn't beat the top 8 teams apart from GWS .
Years past we needed to win games ,like last years qualifying final and failed badly to Hawthorn .
2023 Week 22 to hawthorne again failed , the next week West Coast here and get beaten and miss finals .
What im trying to say is that when the time comes , when we absolutly have to win , more often then not we fail , and that has to stop , we had 5 guys make the 40 odd squad for all Australian team , just mind boggling how a side with that much talent misses the finals .
It has to be our bottom end that is just not good enough and lets us down in cluch games , that has to be fixed , or we will just continue to be nearly good enough .
Sure you can say injuries let us down but all sides have injuries , its how you cover thoes injuries that matters , if we have guys out and we continually play the same guys that let us down in cluch games then , its kinda like the definition of maddness , doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome .
