Had the old argument with a pies supporter , you have only won two flags , so I delved deeper , as Footscray supporters we know we won a lot in the then VFA . So I replied with 20 , which is true if you go through every grade including women .
Now I did some more research and a cup wasn’t awarded until 1959, before then it was a pennant .
I haven’t been to the museum so I was wondering are the “pennants and cups all on display if not and some are missing would it not hurt the club to get reproduction s?

I wished the club made more of our VFA success and those Premierships, i mean that is still part of our history as a club even though we didn't make that step up to VFL until 1924/25, not sure about the Championship Of Victoria game as there are many conspiracies regarding Essendon and throwing the game to allow us to come in so they could then own our zones and take away players we should have been able to bring in, all the more reason to hate that #anker of a club.

Well wasn’t VFA bigger than VFL for a while in the early years ?
VFL started as a spin off from VFA didn’t it ? I always thought VFA was bigger until clubs like us , Nth and the hawks moved across.
I mean if we beat Essendon it stands to reason VFA was bigger .
I also know all the stories about the Essendon v us game to get in.

The club does a better job of acknowledging the early day players like Vernon Banbury and Dave DeCoite than they did back in the day. There's a separate section in the HoF for the pre 1925 boys and the new book Through and Through has a few chapters about vfa days
