Maybe we need to get a property developer in Williamstown on board as a sponsor, so we can offer nice house packages under the table…
You don't need to sell the benefits/advantages of the inner west to me, but for potential trade targets they want access to golf courses and the beach/peninsula. And they definitely want to invest their footy dollars into higher yield real estate on the eastern side of Melbourne. You mentioned Hawthorn but their new base in Dingley is only 15 mins from Beauy/Black Rock and it's a very easy commute to the sand belt and also the Mornington Peninsula.

Like I said, it is even starting to bite the richer clubs located north of the city - who really wants to go to Tullamarine every day. I'm a northern suburbs wog born and bred, and I know most footballers don't give a shit about the nightlife in Brunswick, Northcote and Moonee Ponds. Most want to live/invest in the east, train somewhere easy to get to (with great facilities) and have access to some quality golf courses and beaches close by. And for those inclined, they can get their nightlife kicks in Prahran/Windsor/Richmond.

I also reckon you're underselling how much of a pain in the ass it is to get from the west to the east and vice versa. Any time you have to cross town is bumper-to-bumper at the best of times.

The golf course situation on the western side of town is shitful!

I've been a member of probably the best one on this side of town for the best part of 20 years and when compared to the offerings on the ''other'' side it isn't comparable. There were about 6 WB players members there over the past few years, but I think that number is down to just 1 now... but many play there on a weekly basis. Given how much free time the players get both in & out of season, and how many play regularly, having access to good golf is important as stated.

Hopefully the new West Gate tunnel will ease the congestion

Playing there against higher drawing teams certain helps.

You need to play there to win it. It was great night there for our 100th anniversary game against Collingwood getting 78K for a home game although the result not so much.
Where you play does not have an impact. The Hand-Bags attract players despite their crappy stadium. (Off-Field Deals help though).

            Hey hey Travis Cloke !

You're right we should have cashed in more but we were too focused on celebrating I think.

That was just so the CFMEU boys had work for 10 years.
It's going to be better but sadly everyone drives now and the PT situation hasn't improved (where the money should go) so nowhere near as much as promised.

They play a few home games at the G. I think it's a valid point.

I'm around the corner from Hawthorns new facilities and the sandbelt which is magnificent if you like golf. Which i do and agree 1000% with this post.
