Well that's the end of the girls floor exercise, now let's bring on the men!

Not a bad effort, I'd put Libba in the centre, Freijah on the wing, Dolan on the bench and Sanders at half forward to roll up given we've got Weightman in the side acting as a genuine forward. I'm a little worried about defensive running, would have either McNeil or VDM instead of Garcia (who I don't rate).

          Like Williams at half back.
          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

            Bramble, Busslinger, JOD
            Dale, Lobb, Budarick
            Truck, Fridge, Gags

            Croft, Davidson, Hynes, Libba, Treloar

Sanders is the one I couldn’t quite fit in, a victim of Libba and Treloar being available. I still think he plays a lot of football and maybe moves ahead of some others.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Do we have player than can be the eighth defender amongst other poisitions (Williams) so Lobb can second ruck? Or should there be a third tallish forward involved? Not sure about Treloar and Sanders both in the side but we'll see.....

All these proposed line ups are short of a gun tall defender and the retention of the likes of VDM and McNeil means imo we are going nowhere.

Vandermeer and mcNeil could run water.

Im not sure how we get a gun tall defender in the rookie draft.

GVGjr I know the other thread was closed, but is it possible to merge the threads so that the posters who put their teams in there can still have them discussed here? I saw there was a lot of effort in Rocco's post in particular, and now it is lost to the forum gods.

EDIT: you either did it since I posted this, or I hadn't scrolled up high enough beforehand...either way, looks good!

                            Backs:
Budarick, Bramble and Dale to take the smalls and give us run.
Buss, Lobb and JOD to take the bigs, kill contests and intercept - I think we like the three taller players.
                            Cleary as bench rotation.

                            Mids:
                            English ruck.
Bont, Ed, Libba starting centre bounce.
Williams and Davidson on the wings. Baker (assuming he gets a contract) as their rotation.
Freijah and Treloar starting on field at half-forward.
MKennedy, Sanders starting on the bench as rotations.

                            Forwards:
                            Darcy deep, Naughton high.
                            West and Cody.
                            Arty as the bench rotation.

                            Emergencies:
Croft - I think we will find a way to squeeze him in for round one
Dolan/Hynes - liked what they showed this year. The Baker, Arty, Treloar, Cody, Sanders positions seem the most likely to be available.
VDM - if he has a great pre-season and looks like VDM of the first month of 2025, he should play ahead of Arty/Dolan/Hynes - but I have low faith in him.
Jaques - I am hopeful he actually comes on well enough to push for round 1, but he needs a summer of consistency - played half back, wing, half forward in VFL. Pick a position and give him the best chance of earning a spot.
Sellwood - originally had him on the bench ahead of Cleary but really that's just blind hope. I think he's got more killer instinct/more angry about getting beaten than our current backs. Hope he has a great pre-season.
Draftees/SSP - Bevo has consistently debuted at least one unexpected newcomer in round one. Whether it's our first round pick, Sam Frost, Ryan Burton, whoever...I think there'll be a guy not currently on the list who plays in round one.

I think that leaves Mcneil, Luke Kennedy, Lachie Smith, Gallagher, Garcia, Gardner, Harmes, Buku, Walker and the uncontracted guys. Harmes, Garcia and Gallagher the most likely of that bunch to push for round one.

                              B : Budarick - Busslinger - JOD
                              HB : Bramble - Lobb - Cleary

                              Foll : English - Bontempelli - Richards

                              Interchange : Kennedy - Liberatore - Treloar - Sanders - Sellwood

I'm taking Dale out of the backline, i have always wanted to see him as a pure winger along with Davidson, both 100% offensive players who can run and run all day, we just need to tighten up that backline, Sellwood adds some toughness on the bench and Cleary really took some big steps this year, Williams to a half forward with Freijah ready to explode in the centre, let's hope Cody get's back to being fully fit as he makes our forward line so much more dangerous.
