    2026 Western Bulldogs Fixture

    Mitch Cleary. EXCLUSIVE: A blockbuster opening to next year's fixture is beginning to take shape.

    Sydney will host Carlton at the SCG on Thursday March 5 to open 2026. Charlie Curnow Grudge match under lights.

    The rest of the expected Opening Round fixtures:
    Gold Coast v Geelong
    GWS v Hawthorn
    Brisbane v Western Bulldogs
    St Kilda v Collingwood (Sunday night)

      Hopefully we get the 2024 version of the Brisbane Lions who lost their first three games at the GABBA that year.

        Besides Carlton and Sydney the rest seem like odd matchups to kick off the season.

          I think the AFL try to give the premiers a lift up , pitting them against a team they think is not to bad but not near good enough to beat the raining premiers in the 1st game of the season on their home deck with all the pageantry of the unfurling of the flag .
          So to my way of thinking , to the AFL we are that side thats just not good enough .
          My hope is we trounce Brisbane and spoil their big unfurling of their flag .
