    We will beat Collingwood tonight because:

    1/. We are a really good MCG team.
    2/. They CANNOT SCORE. I guess De Goey could get hold of us, but the rest of the forwards hold (or should hold) zero fears.
    3/. They have a strong midfield do they? Well, good luck with that. Bont, Macrae, Libba and co say howdy...we have been really limiting possessions to opposition mids and the Collingwood guys NEED possessions to be effective.
    4/. Our half forwards have not been amazing - but we have been good at restricting the R&C of opposition half-backs...without the mids on top, they are going to need drive from the likes of Crisp and they just wont get it.
    5/. Grundy might have an advantage in the ruck, but if they couldn't win the clearances vs WC with him dominating, they are not going to win the clearances vs Libba.
    6/. With Crisp running off and Howe looking to intercept, now is the time for Lloyd and Dickson to step right up...they will get heaps of space tonight and are both very good kicks for goal.

              Moore is playing with injury and is definitely not a 'hard' defender so I'm backing Schache in to run him around and leave space for Naughts and Gowers to lead into.

              Gowers is a showtime player who will enjoy the bigger stage.

              Outside of Mayne (who has improved vastly) forward pressure is not a Collingwood forte so rolling the dice with a small backline may well work for us. JJ needs to get on his bike and run Varcoe out of position.

              We win games we're not expected to.

              Adams and Treloar can turn the ball over under pressure so our smaller side should get some rebound possession chains going.

                  If JJ is in full flight, I can't see any of their back six who can catch him.
                  Loss from last week will have stung a bit. Expect us to show more in the first.
                  Matthew Lloyd said Collingwood has the best midfield going. In which case he will be proven wrong......

                  I think Collingwood will be their usuall arrogant selves and underrate us. Gowers, Naughton, none of the new brigade give a rats about that. They just want to win.

                  Libba V Pendlebury should be a good show. My money is on the son of Tony to out-mongrel him.

                              Between JJ, Crozier, and Suckling our half-backs will have them on the run coming out of defence all night.

                              Having JJ back in the team frees up Caleb to push up to a wing, work his way forward and put pressure on their half backs when they're trying to rebound.

                              They don't have the defending smarts to hold all of Dickson, Gowers and Lloyd to account. One will get off the leash and do some damage.

                                                      We didn’t deserve to win. Then we did. Then we didn’t.

                                                      Collingwood are one of the best teams and we played them off a 5 day break at their ground. We put up a good fight.
