Three things you have learned Round 17 v Hawthorn.

With the season almost over tell us three things learned today.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

    1. Gardner did ok today- he might make it- got a little bit of Hamling vibe about him
    2. Nice to see English kick truly-important for his confidence if he continues to play stints in forward line
    3. Starting to think Richards outstanding attribute of speed is not enough to justify selection
    4. (I know, I know-only 3 things) Suckling looks cooked
    Josie :)

    Our day will come
    And we'll have everything.
    We'll share the joy
    Just like '54 again.

I thought Richards' was ok today Josie. Much harder at the contest and showed genuine desperation at times which was something we were lamenting in his game. What didn't you like today?
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I agree, his first half showed much greater attack at the ball. Went missing with many others in the second half, but we need him in there with his burst of speed, and no Toby or Laith.

1 - Things have come together nicely and progressing further during the season is in our own hands
2 - Duryea could be a very handy player for us for the balance of the season
3 - Johannisen has got his spark back

            1. Roarke Smith is genuinely tough. I am beginning to see what the coach sees in him.
            2. English can kick goals from 50+. If he keeps it up he could become one of the most valuable players in the comp.
            3. Caleb Daniel might be worth a sneaky $10 bet to place in the top 3 in the Brownlow.

I backed Caleb awhile ago at 200/1

                1. Bevo is getting the job done, helps when you have some experience in the team

                2. Libba is so important to this team

                3. Bad luck can happen so quickly - poor Mclean, feel sorry for him.

Thought he was fumbly and did not do much damage with the ball. Perhaps I’m being too harsh on him. Agree he did get more of it in first half.

How many players let alone rucks have you seen kick goals from 55 this year? I can't think of many, and he nailed it.
                      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I haven’t watched the replay yet and it might not be evident in the broadcast, but Suckling was burning off opponents all day.

A number of times he wasn’t used but it created space for others and opened up other options. On one occasion (I think after Bruce clunked one near the middle of the ground) he burned forward and went past the defenders and should have got the ball pumped in long Over the top.

He may have been quiet on the stats sheet, but I think he will earn another game Based on how hard he worked.

                          1. There is no more inexact science than umpiring this game.
                          2. Roarke, Gardner and Bruce had good games
                          3. I counted 7 getable goals missed. It's as predictable as the sun coming up.

                            1. Duryea back in the side seems to give JJ a different role which he absolutely made the most of

                            2. There is nothing better than watching a player with elite natural ability matched with raw hunger, aggression and intensity. Aaron Naughton is both - a top 3 pick if his draft was redone that plays as if he is fighting for his spot. Bailey Smith the same.

                            3. We have again managed to bring it together at the end of the year - things clicking again and we’re getting better each week. This is exactly like the tigers except they seem to “do enough“ to win during the H&A when their form dips. I’m taking this as a really good sign. Even so - one week at a time.

By his standards it was a bit better than some others but he's still a long way off playing a good game
