    Our Rising Star Nominations

    Our two best sides of Rising Star Nominations:

    Firsts:

    B: R.Hargrave Southern R. Murphy
    HB: Daniel Jones McMahon
    C: Griffen West Macrae
    HF: Giansiracusa T. Boyd Stringer
    F: Dahlhaus Naughton Johnson
    R: Darcy Dunkley Bontempelli


    Seconds

    B: Honeychurch Talia Williams
    HB: Richards Penny Higgins
    C: B. Smith Cooney Cross
    HF: Lane Grant Weightman
    F: Hrovat D. Hargraves Hill
    R: Minson Ward Wallis
    Int: Grgic Nicholson Birss

    Only 3 clubs never won the award. They are: Fitzroy (3 seasons), GWS (9 seasons) & FFC/WB (since it’s creation in 1993). We’ve clearly not had enough good players.

      Still unbelievable that
      a) Libba didn't get nominated during his debut season
      b) Bont didn't win

      And disappointing that Griffen didn't get closer to Deledio due to Kevin Bartlett's bias - surely Griff looked a better prospect than Adcock and Mclean?

          Caleb Daniel should have won, but Callum Mills was picked. Still prefer Caleb.

              Imagine being a Brownlow medallist and only being able to kit up in the seconds!

              The only one I would maybe contest would be Ward over Dunkley (to this point and obviously taking in Ward's entire body of work, not just his limited time with us). Cross and Higgins probably next in line with Cooney. B. Smith probably gets the nod when this thread gets bumped in 5 years.
