Three things you've learned Round twenty 2021 V Adelaide

Three things if you don't mind umpire(s)
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

    1. Jamarra’s improvement from week to week is significant. The burst speed but the pressure acts and tackling with goals is another dimension to an already multidimensional forward line.

    2. When Bailey Dale is on, he’s a joy to watch. The huge bonus is his 9 goals straight and 8 goal assists this year to date.

    3. Competition for spots is about to really heat up.

A bit hot and cold here -

      1. Schache can play back but needs to work on the art of the spoil

      2. Jamarra is improving but he needs to cut out the basic errors before finals.

      3. We have great depth in the 22 evidenced by even contributions today BUT it's always concerning to see some of our best players well below their best: Naughton, Bontempelli, Dunkley.

        1. The selectors have a major dilemma to choose the best 22
        2. There is still improvement to come with some best 22 out of the team
        3. I am still worried about the talls in the backline going into finals, although Schache showed some good traits.

          1. We won well without major contributions from the usual suspects.
          2. Scott and Roarke Smith are very handy players
          3. JuH is ticking over sweetly

I do enjoy seeing those long arms swing out wide before coming back in to wrap up a player in a bear hug from behind. Looks like he's about to be tackled from about 3 different directions

I wonder if this bloke inspired the name "General Grievous"? He was a very prominent figure in 1950 news bulletins.

                    1. We are a professional unit that can do what they have to against weaker opposition. No upset was ever brewing

                    2. Caleb Daniel is hitting really good form at the perfect time of year. Slow start this year but he's humming along now

                    3. Schache just might has saved his career. Still a work in progress but 2 pretty decent games in a row in defence.

                        1. Our backline, much maligned by woofers during the year has proved to be amazingly durable; despite the loss of its cornerstone, Alex Keath.

                        2. We have a group of "fringe players" who, when called upon by the selectors, make meaningful contributions to the team. Our depth of talent and desire is pretty impressive.

                        3. Perhaps I shouldn't say this, there is a long way to go, but for the first time I am starting to believe in the ultimate dream for 2021.

1/ Yep, but by then we will Keath back and Shack will be able to have aerial support, but it is an area of concern as trans will look to isolate him.

2/ His errors came when he looked fatigued, but lots of positives. Would be interested in his TOG as I don’t think it’s high and I’m not sure we can carry him into a tight final… but he has serious X factor which might be what breaks open a final.

3/ I actually think it’s a positive… Bont has been incredible this season with his worst 2 games being in big wins. He was ‘sat on’ which allowed others more freedom and he was still strong around the contest. Dunks has played 1 game in about 14 weeks and sat in his lounge room for 2 weeks before Thursday so he will take time and Naughts was scragged at every opportunity, but we still had 30 scoring shots which is a big positive… both will be better for the run.
