Bankers & Anchors: Rnd 20, 2021 vs Adelaide

This is the round 20, 2021 edition of the weekly Bankers and Anchors thread. Once the game against Adelaide is concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys/aspects of the game that weighed us down by their errors or poor play

Please limit it to no more than three of each player or aspect of the game, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match - I will allow more freedom now as the thread seems to be going down more of the aspects of the game path so you can have 3 for each made up of aspects of the game and individual players.

The thread is named in honour of a popular WOOF Contributor, The Banker, who passed away on 22/04/2012 after a six month battle with cancer.

    B

Marra. Two goals, four tackles (three I50), shepherds, blocks, pressure. Nice all round performance and could’ve kicked more.
Scott. Really liked him off half back. Happier still that wasn’t a bad injury.
Schache. Most marks on the ground from either side and most intercept possessions for all KPPs on the ground. Has a bit to work on, but after a couple of games there’s cause for some optimism.

    A

Naughton giving away behind the ball frees and turning shots over. This is a thing. It needs to stop.
Kicking. Some poor stuff today, Weightman and B. Smith among it prominently.
Things being what they are our Ballarat peoples not being able to be inside the ground
Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023

      Bankers

      1. The Bailey's were on fire today

      2. How good is Caleb Daniel

      3. Big shout out to some of the lesser lights in Roarke, Scott, Garcia

      Anchors

      1. Continual bombing of the ball into the forward line

Not much else, except some silly frees given away

        Bankers
        Bailey Dale, an AA lock.
Scott, Garcia and Roarke Smith do good team things, Bevo must be impressed.
Ugle-Hagan, improving every game, great things in store for him and supporters.

        Anchors
Naughton's kicking for goal seems to continually hook it.
No crowd, what a pity for Ballarat and Dogs supporters (except the blokes enjoying it outside the fence)

          Bankers

Caleb - not that he was ever poor in this respect but I feel like his hands in close have improved out of sight this season. Libba-esque.

Garcia - absolutely love what he brings. Pressure, contested ball, gets it to the outside and proactive with his ball use.

Dale - makes threading a sherrin look easy

          Anchors

Jamarra - two dropped marks and an unnecessary turnover in the centre of the ground. Redeemed in large part by the rest of his game and of course by the game situation. I just hope he doesn't become one of those "ying and yang" players.

Naughton - seemed out of sorts on a defender he should have destroyed

Shots for goal against the wind from 40m+ out
          'And the Western suburbs erupt!'
