    Bankers

Bottom 6/lesser lights all played well. No passengers
    B Smith's goal kicking
    VDM's pressure

    Anchors

Well covered by others - all the crap we had to put up with before the game
The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.

      B

      - First quarter goal silencer performance to a pack of arrogant flogs
      - The coach killers being kicked in the final minute of first and second quarters
      - 23 blokes who all played their role and stood up when it was their turn

      A
      - The media hopping straight on the dogs bandwagon after the game
      - The preparation and lead up to the game - though I’m certain it fuelled us
      - Not being there
      The dam wall has busted!

        Bankers:

JJ - Thought it was really big to see JJ's attack on the ball, his mark going back with the flight in front of Jonas, and he was clean and creative. A player like JJ can really lift the team when good, and deflate us when he's poor. He was really good.

Naughton - He's 21....he's just taken 6 contested marks and looked like a man possessed and worried the Port defenders enough to create carnage and spillage goals everywhere.

Bont - his game was underrated. At one point when he'd gotten to 9 possession, 7 were score involvements - 2 goals. Huge influence.

        Anchors:

          Good calls Ozza.

JJ whilst a maligned player due to his inconsistencies is such an important player for us.. when he's on, he makes us a better team.

Whilst Naughts had a favorable match-up he was back to his best in creating chaos in the air and on a different day could've taken another 3-4 marks given he had good purchase on them. Going to cause such a headache for teams when he adds a bit more core strength as he is moved off the ball a bit now, but it won't be that way forever.

Agree on the captain, led us in both clearances and inside 50's and some of his release handballs from the contest were sublime. In a world where it's all about volume the Bont is one player who doesn't need a heap of the ball to make a massive impact. Given the light week on the track I was concerned about his touch as he fumbled picking up the ball when Jack had a free in the 1st qtr about 3 times, but luckily it was just a blip and he was back to his good self soon after.

            Agree on the above.

Thought it was JJ's best game since the 2016 GF, and in some ways, his best ever in that he put his body on the line and won more than a few key contests. Brilliant stuff.

Naughton was Carey-like but both English and Schache played HUGE roles in allowing Naughty to burn McKenzie without having to consistently compete with Aliir or Jonas coming over the top.

VDM's positive energy and pressure was a big highlight for me, as was Williams' steadiness all night (minus that third qtr stuff up).

To McKenzie's credit, he did really well v Tom Hawkins this year, and has become a first choice defender for them allowing Jonas and Allir to play more aggressive.

On Bont's game....how was his gather and spin and handball that kick started the Treloar 5 bounce and eventual Hannan goal? Play of the night that goal. Bont got his two fumbles for the year out of his system in that first quarter! (well 4 if you count all three when trying to gather a dead ball!)

Naughton aerial ability compared to Hawkins is poles apart and to his credit McKenzie didn't get caught in wrestling contests with big Tom.

He likes that side of the ground given he did a similar move 3-4 years ago in the wet when going the opposite way... for such a big guy he's very light on his feet.
