Re: Welcome to the Western Bulldogs - Arthur Jones
Listening to the podcast, he sounds like a really grounded, switched on kid.
Some interesting takeaways:
-He had at least three clubs in contact with him
-He gets compared to Bradley Hill
-He would have been in the West Coast NGA programme, but decided not to sign the contract- two other boys signed, but he didn't understand the contract so took it home. He and his mum couldn't make sense of it, so opened not to sign.
-Wesley College student- has been involved in Indigenous programmes, including designing an Indigenous tie as an awareness/fundraising idea (closing the gap initiative). He also designed their indigenous Guernsey with a few other boys.
-Is indeed related to the Krakouers
-Sounds like he has some leadership qualities- and is keen to play a leadership role.
A good listen, including a nice story at the end. The kid sounds like an absolute gem.

Arthur. The once and Future king!

Really gives an insight into the type of player and person aspects we like to bring together when determining who to draft. It really does seem that we place a high value on personal attributes.
I am really looking forward to seeing Arthur develop. He looks to have a lot to work with.Comment
