    Re: Inside The Kennel

Great to hear it Jose! He is an absolute treasure - to think that a boy who sold records at the ground, jumped the fence to avoid entry fees to games and listened in to private discussions from the Match Committee, would go on to play for the Club and serve as President is astounding. But to think at 105, he can recall details from matches played 90+ years ago is truly remarkable.

Keep watching and thanks for your kind words.

That was such an enjoyable listen. Articulate, honest and insightful. I only met Fletcher once and thanked him for his contribution to our Club. I made the point of letting him know that "there will never be a better clearing kick to the boundary line in the dying moments of a game than the one you produced in the Prelim against GWS."
It bought a smile to his face.
      Brilliant interview.

Seriously the club should have your interviews on loop in our museum Matt.
Ripper interview. Had the pleasure of working with Neil briefly when I was posted to Essendon Tech when I was on the Western Suburbs Relieving Staff. Really good bloke and a terrific player for us.

Thanks Merantau! Glad you liked Neil Cordy and Fletch Roberts. Looks like you have strapped yourself in for a day of podcasting. There's plenty for you to get through, so let me know what you think of each. How long have you been following the Dogs?

I'm interviewing Sir Dale Morris on Thursday. Pumped.

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Indeed. My favourite players, as a kid, were Dave de Coite and "Ching" Harris. Later on, in my teenage years, I tried to emulate the great Vern Banbury - but, like most, my endeavours fell far short, and my VFA career with the Tricolours never got off the ground.

I⁹n my old age I'm comforted by our magnificent VFA Premierships, our break through '54 Flag and, of course, our unprecedented 2016 triumph. Go Dogs!

I've just interviewed Mark Hunter, father of Lachie. Mark played 130 games and captained the Club - was a genuine tough-nut that was rarely beaten. Hope Woofers can enjoy and leave a message for Mark.

Marc Hunter was a fine footballer. Could switch between being ultra defensive and attack mode at the blink of an eye.

Interesting to hear that he only had more than three goals kicked on him twice and that was by Daicos and Mick Turner in 100-point+ floggings. Generally, he made it a tough day for his opponent!

                        Glad you enjoyed his interview.

I am now editing Rohan Smith's interview and it might just be my very favorite. Stay tuned...

Really keen to hear Smiths interview, loved him as player and always gave time to aspiring coaches. Great fella.

Terrific interview. Bubba will forever be one of my all time favourite players, my great Aunt used to absolutely love him and I can still hear her yelling “GO ROH” every time he’d take off with the footy.
