    Dogs finalise pre-season fixtures

The Western Bulldogs will ramp up their preparations for the 2023 AFL season with two formal hit-outs prior to round one.

As part of the official pre-season practice matches, the Dogs will face North Melbourne at IKON Park on Saturday, March 4, with the format and game length replicating Toyota AFL Premiership Season matches.

Details regarding the broadcast of the fixture are yet to be finalised, with the game beginning at 1.10pm AEST.

I would have preferred a hit out against someone like a Geelong, not North, so they can test us

It really depends how seriously the other club takes it. North have a lot to prove and I think they'll be up for the challenge while they push to get their members excited. They might be light on for talent but it should be a decent hit out.

It’s a game where you’re on a hiding to nothing though… if we win comfortably it’s seen as being expected, but a so-so performance will have the jungle drums beating.

Going into what will be a very tough first 6 games I too would’ve preferred a match against a more creditable opponent.
