OK - I've done an autofill and will sort it out later.

Anyone who loses to me should be expelled from the competition.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Here is a bit of a cheat sheet to help pick a side

My suggestion is to pay up for forwards who have the dual position option as it can help when the bye rounds are on or in case of some short term injuries.

            DEFENCE

            Pick two of these guys

            James Sicily (Haw) $624,700

            Tom Stewart (Geel) $604,000

            Sam Docherty (Carl) $603,300

            Jordan Dawson (Adel) $603,100

            Bailey Dale (WB) $561,100

            Angus Brayshaw (Melb) $550,300

            Jordan Ridley (Ess) $504,300

            Nick Daicos (Coll) $502,500

            Pick this guy

            Elliot Yeo (WC) $337,000

            And this guy

            Reuben Ginbey (WC) $171,300 DEF/MID

            Pick four of these guys

            Liam Jones (WB) $228,100

            Josh Goater (NM) $192,700 DEF/MID

            Tom Cole (WC) $182,300

            Charlie Comben (NM) $123,900

            Anthony Caminiti (StK) $102,400

It's all about generating value for money with selections and the more players you have than can outscore their value ultimately this will allow you to trade more premium type players into your side.
The way to calculate what sort of return a player needs to get to help grow your money is to divide their listed value by 5.511

ie Charlie Constable has dual position status which might come in handy and his value is listed at $123,900 which is the same as a lot of the rookies. I won't bore you with the reasons why this has happened.
$123,900 divided by 5.511 = 22.50 which is a small target for him to achieve providing he plays but it looks likely he will.
If CC can score at just 55 plus each week value his will start to rise quickly and it won't take long for his value to be over 300K and that is something you can use to trade in other players.

The values won't change for the first 2 weeks which typically means there is a lot of trades done prior to week 3 to take advantage of anyone who has scored well in the first 2 weeks and to get rid of players who have scored poorly. You don't want to have a player who is worth 600K getting revalued to 500K unless you are confident there will be a bounce back. ie he went of early with an injury and that impacted his score and value.

Try and make sure you have at least 28 of your 30 players selected in week one team selections. The more players that start scoring early on it will increase you chances of growing your salary value. You start with 10M to allocate and I suspect you will need to grow this to 12.5M to be successful.

If anyone has some questions there should be enough of us here to answer them. I can go into details about captains and loopholes if that helps.

              Thanks mate.

I'd kind of set my team up like that anyway - but I notice Touk Miller is not in the list of 'pick 3 of these guys' midfielders...is that because he scores differently in SuperCoach to Dreamteam (which I am familiar with)...anyway - I have selected Miller for now but am curious why he wouldn't be one of the go-to mids...

So there's a captain loophole? Always drives me crazy with Thursday night games...I assume captain is double and VC becomes Captain if the captain doesn't play? So for the loophole, you stick the VC on someone in the first game and if you are happy with them (eg. You stick the 'VC' on Taranto and he scores 150 or whatever a good score in SC is) then you stick the 'C' on a player who is on a team playing LATER that weekend - you put him ON FIELD but he DOES NOT PLAY and allow the interchange bench to do it's work?

If it works like that then I get it...systemised cheating if you ask me!
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

I think the only reason why Touk isn't listed is because there is a bit of doubt with an injury for week 1 and 2. If he is picked he should be considered. He might also lose some midfield minutes with the emergence of Anderson, Rowell, Flanders, Jed Anderson and maybe Blakely. I'm not sure who to pick between Miller and Mills for my team. Bont is M3 and Steele M4.

The guide is to help with the team structure and you can certainly add other players you might have a hunch about.
Gulden 180 practice game score the other day has a lot of people dropping Coniglio and using the 80K elsewhere.
                You've nailed the Captains loophole.
One thing to consider with captains is if the team they are playing that week users taggers or not. We don't but the likes of the Saints do and as such picking Bont as captain in week 2 might carry an extra risk.

Just in case anyone was wondering, I already hate this:

                  Stewart injured and scored F-ALL.
Laird? I mean, what was that? And as captain?
Josh Kelly - umm - just tough it out.
Yeo - apparently they had all pre-season to work out he was out but forgot to mention it to me.

So. To whomever organised the league, thanks a lot.
