That was a really good team effort. I thought we had a very good spread of contributors and some outstanding contributions.
Libba was immense - all game. Bont likewise. Treloar was on and when he's on we gain metreage. Excellent game.
Baz is back. That drag down tackle was so good. He worked hard and used his pace well. Jacko got plenty of the ball and used i9t well
Tim English got better as the game unfolded. Francis was a non factor around the ground but Tim did a lot of good things.
Caleb Daniel was very solid all night. When he has the ball good things happen and my pulse rate slows.
Our forwards were lively with Cody and Jamarra the stand outs. Baker had a good return and Scott played his bit and kicked an important goal.
I thought our defence was solid with Richards and Dale leading the way. Essington kicked 4 goals after 1/4 time. That's it. Their forwards didn't get much of a look in.

Very solid win tonight. We got on top after quarter time. Really controlled the game very well. Bont was great as well as Libba. We were solid in defence and looked very good going forward. Season is alive and we need to keep going now.

I had this game pegged as bad loss from preseason until mid way through the second.
The EOC are worse than I anticipated but I feel like they were supposed to play brand of footy that would give us grief, they didn’t, so credit to our boys. No Danny from Droop St vibes from me today.
Had a great day at AAMI Park, a few points post game, dinner in town and then into the game. Was the most fun at the footy I’ve had in a while. Absolutely annoyed the shit out of Essendon fans and ruined their night, was satisfying.Time and Tide Waits For No ManComment

What do we think of Poulter ? I think he is reliable and I thought Baker was unlucky to get subbed out.
Scott was good tonight . West gets in good spots but we don’t seem to kick it to him.
Bruce probably his best game which isn’t really saying much . Keath was good to see his run through the middle.
Williams should play. I think he always gives us a good option.

I think Poulter had some great moments. He showed poise with the ball in hand and made some good decisions. He had one bad moment where he hesitated and got pinged holding the ball in our D50. Probably just needs to find the footy a bit more often. 14 touches tonight.Comment

Quarter time were they like 10 clearances up? Or something like that.
Clearances finished 26-47. That is an absolute belting after quarter time. Just smashed them. Stoppage clearances was 17-35. Contested possessions was 114-144. That is a mauling.Comment

The final quarter brought me a lot of joy. Their percentage dropped another 4 points tonight, and has dropped around 10 points in the past fortnight - their finals hopes have been all but destroyed.

Great win tonight. Professional, did what needed to be done when it needed to be done and got the points with a bit of a bump in percentage - which in our bracket of teams is important.
It was a difficult game to watch, the Docklands ground doesn't bound truly and that impacts quality of play at the moment....or seems to.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Overseas at the moment and listened to the game on ABC (AFL pass was not working), interestingly Mick Malthouse was in commentary and kept providing feedback on JUH’s defensive effort, his view is that his lazy. Personally haven’t noticed this in 2023 I thought he’d improved this element drastically.
It sounded like Malthouse had watched us closely this year, he’d noticed it a number of times he suggested in commentary. Wonder if anyone else has paid attention to this?
Its been embedded in me to dislike Malthouse when he walked out on the club in 89, but I found it interesting his insight (understood his a Dinosaur and some of views are probably outdated).Comment
