Re: WOOF welcomes Jordan Croft to the Kennel

Sam Landsberger is running with concerns that Croft has 7-8 concussions in his junior career, and that this latest concussion is being treated very seriously.

Apparently 'Crofts camp' say it was only one, but other recruiters believe he had a lot more.

Is anyone on here able to clarify? The black and white nature of concussion retirements, as opposed to someone like Clay Smith being allowed to attempt a 3rd or 4th ACL repair, is going to make clubs and players a lot more nervous about histories like what has been reported.

He probably plays like his old man with no fear and straight through. i'd say his old man would have copped a few concussions in his time but in those days it was shake it off and up you get. Very under rated was his old man.

Sam Landsberger would know, but Croft should?ve never been drafted by any club if he?d already had 7-8 concussions.

That?s insane for an 18 year old to have. If his concussion prone at juniors his a hell of a lot more likely to get them against men when the game is sped up.

I wonder with march sims starts where we might play Crofty? Will it be mainly as a forward, a defender or will be be a combination of both positions ?

Time to give him continuity at either end. Looking ahead he could be Lobb’s replacement and Buss takes over from Jones, supported by JOD etc.

Although I’m still not discounting he’s an argo version of Tim.

Surely, surely it has to be as a defender.

If it is as a forward my bloody hobby horse of bidding for him will start again - and I do not want to do that.

Just his height (last clocked at 201cm), running ability (3rd in the 2km time trial yesterday), him having an aggressive streak/white line fever (per Milesi comments) and his generally good footy skills.

                      He's a forward ruck.

As much as I think he's got a terrific athletic profile and a heap of footy ability there is no way I was to see him in the ruck in any capacity for at least the next two years and that includes the VFL.
