Always Right Match Committee Round 11 vs Sydney Swans

Welcome to the Always Right Match Committee Thread. The Match Committee threads has been named after long time WOOF member Always Right who tragically passed away in March 2018.

If you were on the Western Bulldogs match committee, what changes would you make after our Round Ten match against Giants for our Round Eleven match against the Swans at Marvel on Thursday afternoon.

For those new to these threads, please give a brief explanation for your changes ... this would add a lot of value to the discussion.

Depends on who we want Jones on. But they’ve got McDonald, Amarty & Maclean if all fit.

Stiff to drop anyone after that.
            May depend on JJ's fitness.

                Bramble has to be dropped.

I'd drop Marra too but I don't think we will.

We need to freshen up with a 5 day break after a hard slog in the wet. Would not surprise if we manage a couple.

Sounds like Buss has put a great month together. He deserves a crack. If we want the extra height, maybe Cleary. But with the almost selection integrity we have, Buss deserves a debut.

Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 11 vs Sydney Swans

I thought Marra actually tried all night and outside of his finishing which is entirely on him, the rub didn't go his way. He still too some good grabs. I'd retain him and heap the pressure on him to work it out, with a five day break focused on recovery and goal kicking only.

                      Early thoughts:

                      In - JJ
                      Out - Bramble

                      Sub - Cleary
                      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

We won't drop Marra but he's really only had 2 good games out of 8 so he's been struggling for a while now.

                          Yep.

If it was Lobb, we'd be calling for his head.

He's had four tackles as a struggling forward who didn't convert his chances. He kept presenting, but couldn't quite grab them outside of two very good marks. After his time off it's not quite working for him but I don't see how putting him in the twos helps him or us.

From an effort perspective it was quite good and I think I mentioned that early on so it was a good step forward in that regard.
We aren't likely to drop him unless we use the 'managed' card because of a 5 day break but I don't necessarily think a couple of weeks at Footscray would be a bad thing. He will eventually come good, real good, but he's enduring a lean patch at the moment.
