I met Lachie a few weeks ago and was impressed by his maturity and character.

He said one of his toughest games was playing on Joe Berry, who is the type of tricky forward we struggle to combat. I liked that.

His coach commended his kicking and willingness to back himself.

As a leader he was a well-respected co-captain of Falcons. They lost an important member of their club over summer, and did an incredible job to pull together and finish top of the ladder.

That's they way I read it. Plenty of upside in a good system.

Back in the day clubs would have 2, maybe 3 guys who can cover 20m in under 3 seconds.
We expect a bit too much from kids at times. Or greatest ever player was in the bottom 10% for acceleration in his draft year.

Looks like we are cornering the market on Lachies/Lachlans with 4 on the list now, much like St Kilda with Jacks. Seems like half the list are named Lachie, Riley/Ryley/Rhylee or Bailey.
