Bear in mind though they sell 11 home game Melbourne memberships and reserved seating packages at higher prices compared to our 9 game only equivalents. The majority of our members don't buy the Ballarat add on to make up for this.

This lowers our total membership revenue but of course due to government funding significantly increases our commercial partnership and match returns. We have a good lead in these categories compared to the Saints.

The $1 memberships would have lowered average member spend as fair bit I would think. Hopefully, a big chunk of these are paying full price this year and are not just canny Hawthorn fans who have cancelled.
Whatever way we look at it the average is very low. It means that some people who are counted as many club members are getting memberships at a significant discount to the rest of us. For the 2024 season we (4 of us) spent close to 2K on our memberships and it's not like we are in a coterie group just good seats and the Ballarat option. I wonder how many people are getting the $1 deals just to secure finals tickets?

Did anyone watch the AGM? Some of our supporters are getting to the entitled status.

There were some silly questions raised by our supporters that were not applicable for an AGM.
One thing that annoys me is how often some members always start off their introduction before their question with "I've been a member for 45 years...."
Obviously that's fantastic and loyal service but does it make your opinion any more relevant to someone who's been a member for 5 or 10 years?
Members get their loyalty acknowledged and it should be enough but clearly it isn't.
Also the constant requests for more access to players comes across as a bit selfish.

The question about Marra at the end was out of line.

I was at the meeting and audibly groaned when it was asked. I'm sure the asker would have been delighted during his work career for his employer to publicly talk about him based on what someone had read on social media as he was expecting Luke Darcy to do.

On player access, I'm not sure people are aware that there are limitations on the amount of player appearances that the club can utilise due to the AFL agreement with the AFLPA and that the club need to be strategic with these.

Social media is awash with rumours about JUH and his alleged off-field activities. You can track the growth of the rumours as they become more embellished with each re-telling. It's disturbing how some of our supporters will join the pile-on to discredit a Bulldogs player with scant or no evidence to support the slander.

It's a feral echo chamber - that's why it's so dangerous to post things on half truths.

Most of what I have read has been off the mark or as you say, embellished. For any member who has some genuine concerns then they should contact Ameet directly rather than trying to put the board on the spot in front of an audience.
My general rule with serious rumours is that if the media isn't running the story then caution and respect needs to be applied.

100% agree. Wonder if club should issue some basic guidelines to members in attendance to rein in this as it wastes time & is kind of disrespectful.

Fun definition from uk comedian Diane Morgan aka Philomena Cunk:
“Social media is where people go to argue with strangers about things they don’t understand.”

Plus it's not like player appearances are an especially rare thing... there's open trainings every month or two, and no shortage of community events or other stuff like the BNF.
Surely if they think it's worth the trouble to go to the AGM and complain, then they can also make the effort to go to one of the events where the players are at?

Her portrayal is one of the best comedy niches going around. Awesome stuff.
